No way! Omg almost all my bags are discontinued. Wth. I love this bag for traveling.
Yeah it seems like this could be a possibility. People would absolutely spend more. Chanel has crazy price increases and although LV isn't quite chanel, they can absolutely get people to buy the higher priced items. Hate to admit it, but if the price of a canvas piece I loved was 2-3K, I'd buy it. I bought the Palm Springs mini for just under $2,000 and I think it's absolutely worth it. In 2007 I got my first canvas speedy for $595 I think it was. I wish things were still this affordable but these pieces last so long that I'd absolutely pay more for pieces that I know will last me a decade plus.
Love the Duomo Crossbody. The website pics did nothing for me, but when I tried in person became a must have. So happy it is in my collection.
This would surprise me. They are still hard to come by and immediately sell preloved.
The duomo is a beauty! Congrats on getting one. I feel the same about my twice. I had seen it in TPF and it seemed very simple and not something that was a must have. I got one right before being discontinued and it's my most comfy and used bag now! I'm beyond happy I added it to my collection. It's so much nicer in person that photos make it seem. Completely get what you're saying
I would pay it too if I felt confident that that newer products would last. I'm not so sure anymore based on some of the issues I have seen on here. I have one vintage piece and the workmanship and quality is outstanding imo compared to the newer model. I just sent it in to replace the leather bottom and am praying they do a good job and the leather is of the same quality as my vintage piece from 22 years ago- personally I think LV needs to slow down and focus on quality. The rate of introduction and discontinuation is rapid.
Love all the older styles. That's why I'm hanging on to all my older bags.
You're so right. It wasn't until I saw a review on YouTube (right as it was discontinued) that I fell for it. Got my hands on it luckily. The website really didn't make the bag look appealing at all.
I was told Monogram Vernis is being discontinued! I don't know if this info is already somewhere (I have tried to search)
Sorry if this is already old info. It,s sad I remember when it was launched in 1998. My SA told be there will be a lot of changes. Discontinuing Vernis leather is part of "the new" Louis Vuitton. I don't recognise the brand any more. Will probably just go for luggage peaces in the future.

I don't think Vernis sells as well as it used to. However, new Vernis bags were recently released (a kind of camera bag, the Félicie, etc). I m not sure if Vernis will be phased out completely but it's not as popular as it used to be (think back to the mid-2000s).
