Just received this one today - a primrose quilted leather dinky. New with tags and dust bag from eBay for the great price of $179. Question: Does anyone know how they came up with the name, "Dinky?"
Bonnie Cashin named some of her small bags dinky. The original dinky was shaped like a shopping bag. Later they came up with a flap design that was also called dinky. It did not have an inside kisslock pocket. That was part of the design of another small purse, called a shoulder purse.

Dinky means small. I think it is kind of cute. Bonnie Cashin was a character. Coach has had quite a few silly names. I think Swagger is a silly name.

I knew Dinky meant small but maybe not everyone has heard of it. We watched an old American movie last night in which one of the characters was named Dinky.
I have an internet friend from the UK who has a pet named Tidgy and I had no idea what that meant until he told me. I guess that is a UK only thing.
I love Dinky as a name too! I've always used "dinky" in common parlance so when I came across the bag I thought it was cute & appropriate.

Just received an email from Coach showing their Fall bags and they now have a Dinky 19 which looks like perfection for those of us who usually carry larger bags but do our best now and then to whittle down our possessions to fit into a Dinky. I have a Dinky 24 that I love but it's crammed full when I use it. This Dinky 19 has more height and depth and its interior is gusseted. Has anyone bought one yet? If so I would love to know how you like it and see pics if you can. Thank you so much!
