Thanks ilzabet!! I like the classic look. I mean even if you had billions of dollars you would still buy the classic under 1.25 for each ear.

sure would...for every day at least.

if i had BILLIONS i assume i'd get invited to parties where the occaisions call for bling....in that case i'd have a pair of amazing diamond drops (like oprah's beautiful pear shaped ones) to fall back on when appropriate... :graucho:

I love Oprah's diamond drops!! I bought QVC's diamonique diamond drops...shhhhh....and wore then to a wedding in California. Nobody knew and I got all kinds of stares!! Love them....the best $30. I ever spent!!:yahoo:

I bet that your earrings look fabulous! Do you have a pic?

My studs are tiny but I got it for free since it was a hand-me-down from my big sister!

The first time I tried them on they looked good in size, but now they look tinier. Anyway, they're just .50 each ear in white gold. It's quite white in color and I'm sure it has to be VS or VVS since she doesn't order lesser quality. Heck, I won't complain since they're free! :yahoo:

They sound fabulous LaVan!! That's excellent to get them for free!
I have .50 studs too in each ear and they are great for everyday.
You have great taste so I know that if you wear them they must be the best! I don't have a pic of the earrings because I'm leary of posting pics of jewelry on this Forum.

Well, to tell you the truth, I'm 47. I just bought a pair of diamond studs that are 1.25 per each ear. I'm not sure if I'll feel later that they are too small. I'm worried that I might get used to the size. I wear classic, simple clothing and don't want anything too large. Maybe the size I bought is too large?

LH, I feel you bought a great size...especiialy if your hair hides your earrings like mine does. I have 2 carat t.w., so one in each ear of course and I think I could have gone a bit larger. To me, they are just typical size.

If you feel your earrings are small now you will think they are later for sure. I thought mine was "big" before and now I feel they could be bigger. You get use to them and then you say...I could have handled a larger size. To be honest though...i don't think you need to upgrade. Your size is perfect and it will compliment your day and night look.

I would invest your money in other things you love. You have enough ear bling to keep you going. As you get older you could add another diamond above or below your existing ones and make a double stud or a triple stud. It all is simple and classic and still looks great. Enjoy them!

Thanks Kellybag!! I have a problem though...my earlobes do not stick out (they lay flat) and my cheeks are full so when you look at me head on you can't see my earrings! You can see them if I move my head side to side...bigger ones? Help!!

lovehermes, what setting do you have your diamonds in?

The basket setting lifts the diamonds away from your lobe. The new martini settings are designed to "sink" into your lobes. Many women like the latter because they can wear the larger carat and the stones won't dangle from the weight.

People don't usually look at you head on, I don't think... they will glance or observe you at the side, or off to the side, so your studs are definitely substantial! If unsure, I'd recommend getting pic of your profile taken and seeing for yourself how others would see the studs. Does this make sense?

Hi rainrowan...thanks for your suggestions so much! Mine are I believe the basket setting and I think that's the only setting Tiffany offers.
I have the plastic discs to hold them in place so they won't dangle, but they still stand higher. I might have to try a larger carat.
That's a good idea to take pictures to see my profile. The SA said the same thing you said that people don't look at you head on and your head moves around and is not still.

This is going to sound a little crazy, but studs depend on the size of your lobe, maybe even your head! I was cursed with a ginormous noggin (unfortunately no diet can help that :p ), so anything smaller than a 1 carat stud looks dwarfed. My perfect size is a 1.5 ct stud (approx 7.5mm), for 3cts total.

rainrowan...I think I will try the 3.0cts total to see if there is a difference. The amount of money for the difference is substantial, but might be worth. How are your studs set?
