so they d have a good quality and more importantly a very good cut /as they are tiffanys) and frankly that is more important than size cause a bad cut huge stone in a minor colour looks like glass next to a 1 ct. perfect stone.
so congrats iam sure they look fabulous

Oh thanks lilach!! They are beautiful...I just didn't know if I should upgrade to the 1.50 in each ear. I did try the 1.50 each ear last December and they looked too big, but I've heard that you get used to the size. Anyway these (1.25 each ear) are really sparkly!
Does Tiffany diamonds have a better cut than other diamonds?
I've seen the ones at NM that have 100 cuts in them too, but really love the more classic diamonds.:love:

well there is the saying that when you buy a diamond and think it is too big it is just right cause you adjust to the size sooo quickly that it appears to shrink in front of you :laugh:
oh and yes tiffanys stones are considered amongst the best cut stones in "massmarked" jewelery (you know what i mean good quality good brand but not one of a kind or exceptional pices or haute joaillerie)
so iwould say if the look fab on you and you feel comfortable keep them and safe the bigger stones for something exxeptional like chandelier evining earrings and the likes)
but i am sure they look fab on you :flowers:

Hmm its tricky. It really is up to the individual. I'm 5'2, I have two ear piercings in each lobe. The first lobe has a 1 carat diamond in and the second has a 1/2 carat, I'm 18 and I'm sure in a few years i'll just switch to two carats in one hole in each ear and thats it.

Oh thanks Jag!! My sister-in-law thinks 1.0ct is just the perfect size.
I'm looking at too many people's diamond studs lately! The SA at the Sisley counter at NM...loved hers...she said they were 2.0 each ear!!
I see women at Hillers with big diamonds too! I have to stop looking at other women!! Crazy!!

This is going to sound a little crazy, but studs depend on the size of your lobe, maybe even your head! I was cursed with a ginormous noggin (unfortunately no diet can help that :p ), so anything smaller than a 1 carat stud looks dwarfed. My perfect size is a 1.5 ct stud (approx 7.5mm), for 3cts total.

I agree that it depends on the size of your head, and your ears. I have tiny ears, and my 3/4's look perfect on them. I don't think I'd go bigger because they'd just hang off of my lobes. :shrugs:

this is so so true. i have itty bitty little ear lobes, so anything over 1.5 carat or so in each ear is almost too much...more towards the gaudy/blingy than classic, you know? my perfect size is between .75 and 1.25 for each ear...not that i have ANY (acceptable) diamond earrings right now... :crybaby:

and lilach is right, as usual. i'd much rather have smaller amazingly cut stones than huge badly faceted ones. it makes such a difference.
