Madame H, your studs look beautiful! great choice, they look like the perfect size!!! congrats!

Thank you DMC2. I will change the setting next year. I always find something 'i don't like' about the setting and finally realized the setting i choose show off too much 'metal' and too thick. Definitely going to change it.

In my 20s I received 1.5 tcw. When I turned 40, I recived 2.3 tcw and now I am 53 and still wear them frequently, although I have changed the setting from bezel to martini 3 prong. They are the perfect size for me.

You have to try it on... some people like their studs big, others like them tiny. It also depends on how tall the person is. A 1 carat can look big on Eva Longoria's ears, while this can look tiny on someone like Kimora Lee's.

It depends on your ears. I am petite (4 11") and my earlobes are small but I have very chunky lobes LOL so earrings look smaller on me then someone with small delicate earlobes. I have 2.5 ctw but would like to upgrade to 3 ctw or slightly above but I couldn't go any larger. I also LOVE the look of larger studs though...

Totally depends on, a) your earlobes, and, b) your style. I have enormous earlobes and enormous ... tastes, for lack of a better word, and my 1.5 tcw earrings look good for everyday earrings, but not dressy in the slightest. 3 ctw, on the other hand - now, that might be appropriate for fancy occasions!

My studs are .33 and .35ct in each ear and I find them to be the perfect size. Anything larger would be overwhelming and distract from my face. I do however have a second hole in my ear in which I wear a very tiny sterling silver stud, so obviously that takes up space in my ear.

To my any of the suggested sizes would be too large, I go for 0.8ctw

I have 1 cttw studs and would love to upgrade them to 2 cttw. My .5-.6 each (guestimating against my e-ring side stones) studs are fine, but I prefer that larger stud look. My husband knows that I will be changing the settings as soon as I'm not lazy about it... The second day I had them a prong had gotten loose. I want to upgrade them to platinum first. Then for an anniversary I want to upgrade them in size and color (the clarity is very very clean).

I have 1 carat total weight studs but i would not go any larger (on me). I am going to trade them in for some better quality stones (which seem to be hard to find) and i'm looking at 1/2 carat total weight to a full carat total weight. I love the look of small perfectly sparkly diamond studs.

BTW if anyone knows where to find decently priced small brand or no brand great quality studs can you please let me know? :)

*agree*

I like anywhere from .8-1 ctw.

It let's me have just enough sparkle but not enough to be overwhelming to my face. And I can easily dress it up or down and throw on a nice necklace without it feeling too much...

And with bigger stones I fear my face might start to resemble a threestone ring! Haha
