Mixed answers, but thanks everyone! I'm going to think it through, I'm swaying towards Chanel but my family and friends are alot more suppprtives about a ring, they don't understand designer handbags especially not ones that cost as much as Chanel.

At the end of the day, you should be choosing what makes you happy. If your friends and family don't like your choices, it won't kill them.

I'm not a fan of either TBH (I know, weird), but get the exact Chanel you want, and the exact diamond ring you want. If you haven't picked out the perfect ring for you, take more time. Get one that you cannot live without and that you will wear at every opportunity. I personally would go for something more unique than what I might find at Blue Nile.

Blue Nile has a ton of different kinds of diamonds. "Unique" comes when you choose the setting.

Iv kind of already decided what style ring I want, havnt decided on carat size.
But if I get a diamond it will be a halo style ring, with the central diamond (I won't compromise on cut and colour so they have to be the best)
Chanel flap will be jumbo caviar in gold hardware

If you are definitely going to get both then I say Chanel. You said it yourself, their price increases are crazy and your will have to pay so much more next year. No amount of inflation busting income increase can catch that rate.
