Went back to Verdura to retry some cuffs in size Medium. No matter how I slice it, I’m a medium build short filipino, with apparently large wrists and the larger cuffs (Black jade, white, larger gemstones etc) weigh me down (in a full length pic, I sadly look like a hobbit in Smaug’s treasure trove). Somehow even my legs look shorter. . .

if it helps anyone in the future, I believe my wrist measure under 6.5 circumference over the wrist bone, but one really needs to try each cuff in person and perhaps get Verdura to do a subtle tweak of the size. In one cuff sizer, I measured 59-45 (a medium, assume this is mm length and width) and in another wrist cuff sizer, it seemed like I could go up to 63-45 (a large) assuming I wanted some movement but not for it to roll over. The cuff is special order in size large, whihc isn’t necessarily a problem, but they just don’t have any in that size right now for me to try. The best cuff for someone of my dimensions is the matte textured gold that encircles the whole wrist bc it’s closer to the body. (I could get a medium on with marks left on my skin after removal) But someone who is considering any of the cuffs really needs more of a long, lean line. I haven’t given up entirely, bc I’m dieting and exercising to slim down the genreal profile, but the classic cuff is not the most flattering bracelet on me.

the bellperron stuff looks more streamlined on me, but is sized even smaller than Verdura. None of the bracelets fit. I did try on an Art Deco necklace which im considering. This is a pic taken at the BelPerron salon when I was trying it on. I believe it’s enamel with diamonds in the center and hinged in the back. Clasp is hidden in the front.

You look fabulous with the necklace on. I agree about the cuffs- it’s one thing that you need to try on in person and I think a longer forearm is required to pull many of them off. Look forward to seeing what will be your next purchase.

Forgot to mention price ranges which may be of interest to anyone looking For a verdura cuff or at belperRon. There is extremely wide price variation depending on the stones and pearls and other adornment, and one can start with the online prices at Verdura.com. IMO, if the black jade cuffs works on a person (and they are more careful than I am) it can be the much better priced option (assuming one is reasonable about the stones). DH only liked the gold hammered cuff on me Bc it was a slimmer silhouette. With medium tanzanite and tsavorite garnet, it was a whopping $64,500 at the old gold price size medium. But gold is now more expensive, so a new medium or special order large will be more expensive. There are many more bracelets that are much more reasonably priced. This was just my experience.

the bellperron stuff is generally more expensive but also less recognizable and easier to wear (if one is not built long and lean). the necklace with diamonds and black enamel was, I believe, 118k usd. its all on a separate website, but I think either designer is hard to buy without trying first. Things that you would never imagine looking good, do, and things you adore on line may not work. HTH

hi ladies, i reached out to verdura and got some pictures of their night and day earclips & eartstuds. i prefer the size of the ear studs, but i wish the “night” stud was more like a mini version of the dome earclips. i really like these, but i’m a bit conflicted. what do y’all think? i won’t be able to try them on in person for a while, so just pondering for now.

ITA with you. There is also an enormous price differential, and for the dome amount, there is also a beautiful night cuff and many other options. If you are seriously considering the smaller verdura stud version of night and day, I believe both schlumberger and seaman schepps made a similar earring (essentially two studs of night). The diamonds are placed in a more regimented fashion than the verdura dome, but its an option. I saw the schlumberger version, sold vintage, at a 47th st store For about 4K Which is an enormous savings if you prefer night to day.

thank you for your reply! unfortunately i prefer the day to the night, which is why i’m so interested in these earrings because i’ve never seen studs quite like them :/
