I won't say never, but I think it's highly unlikely that I will ever own an Hermes Birkin or Kelly bag. Way too expensive and way too much work for a bag.
I only heard about the hoops people jump through to buy Hermes on here more recently. I hadn't looked into it because because to me they are very ordinary, boring and plain for the price they charge. No appeal whatsoever but then reading what people go through for the privilege of being picked to buy one I am surprised people bother.
They just don't appeal to me aesthetically at all especially for the price and then the trouble to buy one on top of it all.

The trouble to buy one......is part of the marketing strategy. And it works.

Have to agree with Hermes. When I decide I want something, I want it now. I don't have the patience to jump thru hoops and wait several months for it .

+1000. I thought I was alone on this view of Hermes and was surprised to see these comments.

While I think the Kelly is a beautiful bag, there are many other beautiful bags. And I don't care for anything else from Hermes. (I can't make myself like the Birkin. I tried. lol!) So it makes it easy for me not to want a bag that I would have to take "effort" to buy. If I have the money, the seller should be pleasantly happy to sell to me.
But then I'm also not the person who would wait in line for hours at a club, fight to get a booking months out at a new restarant or pay a scalper x times the face value of a ticket to anything. There are too many easy, wonderful options for me to "fight" to enjoy any one thing.

Hermes - to me it's not classic just paying money to look boring and expected.
Longchamps - I just don't like anything they sell. The leather bags don't have style and the nylon look cheap to me. Like free conference bags.
Prada - I don't like saffiano and the other bags are odd to me.
Louis Vuitton & Gucci canvas bags - I don't like the logos or plasticky canvas.

No offense. Just my opinion. Love you all!

Never say never... But, no to-
Rebecca Minkoff (quality is gone), Prada (I used to be a Prada addict, but started seeing some bags made in China from them), Goyard, MK (I only own one understated MK, But in general not an MK gal.. And to everyone saying he copies higher end designer, look at all other contemporary brands and they do the exact same.... Especially Rebecca Minkoff)

My own made bags! I used to sew leather bags, got on a kick and made over a hundred but never had the patience to follow a pattern, just wanted to wing it and get the bag style in my head 'to fruition' so I could see if it was as great in practice as in my imagination. The details were all sloppy without an industrial sewing machine and proper equipment to attach hardware, or knowing where to get really smooth high end zippers. Etc. I loved designing the bags and mocking them up, so to say, and they were functional and all but when you looked close the details were garbage and I got bored after a hundred or so in a year and didn't want to invest in the equipment or learn fussy methods for getting every crevice perfect looking. But I don't want to carry a bag with a messy stitch so.....

I could be the bag designer for an operation and then have actually crafty people bring the idea to a polished reality, in another lifetime.
