You know... I've always thought the same thing! That I could never carry the classic flap while wearing jeans, which we southerners rock much of the time... but my Birkins look great with jeans... so the Chanel flap would as well, I bet, thinking about it! Hrmmm. Now I kinda want to get it out of its case... maybe with dark wash denim and a white collared shirt...?

She said it loudly in Neimans one day, those exact words, and I almost died, i was so embarrassed and trying to shush her while praying no one heard. *dies* it's just the quilting she hates, but i agree her word choices... or at least her timing... could be improved upon. Then again she is quite blunt so I'm used to it! :lolots:
I used to think the same thing, but have slowly been coming around to appreciate how beautiful they are. That said, I wouldn't be embarrassed over the public remarks. We should all be entitled to our opinions and we don't all need to like the same things. If anyone was standing around who would be offended by the remark, that's their own insecurities/first world problems talking!
:p

You'd be surprised how these 'fancy' bags look good with jeans and T-shirt.
I have no doubt that they look great with a casual outfit, however they're still not my personal style. I prefer slouchy bags and the Chanel's are definitely not that!
I've moved completely away from structured bags, they just seem "stuffy" to me.

Again, just my own personal taste. I'm quite happy for those that love Chanel!

Being on TPF has taught me to be careful about saying "never" to a brand because one I thought I hated can surprise me with one I fall in love with.

That being said, there are certain types of bags I know I hate. I'm not buying bags that are vegan / pleather, heavy, extreme in size (oversized, mini), made of materials that show lots of wear over time no matter what you do (snake, pony hair, etc.) or that have lots of doo dads (chains, charms, zippers, strings, etc.)

I used to say NEVER to signature logoed bags or canvas bags but the Gucci Dionysus shut me up on that. LOL! That bag is gorgeous!

I won't say absolutely never, but I think Goyard may be on this list for me. I love how the bags look on others and always admire them when people are wearing them, but finally having the chance to see them in person this week, they just don't look right when I tried them on, like the pattern was too busy or something. Still love them on others though!

What does everyone think of designer wallets? I read that LV wallets hold up well throughout the years. I bought one the other day, but I didn't notice until I got home that there was a chipped area on the inside..

Definitely bring it back to the store!

My boyfriend has/had (it's on its last legs as anything more than a flimsy card holder) his LV wallet for about 10 years; and he has destroyed this thing, but he abuses it more than any person should abuse any wallet/SLG. I'm talking 3 times the amount of cards thrown in this thing, constant wear from his pocket, etc.

I would say the wallet has really held its own against a hurricane of an owner! Definitely good quality!

Personally, I don't think I would purchase anything from Goyard or Hermes. The former being that while I think the brand's print is beautiful, I just wouldn't personally wear it. Hermes just hasn't wow-ed me with a bag yet, haha!
