My mom says the same thing and I tend to agree. I only have the classic flap which was inherited from my grandmother (I never use it) and then the jumbo Cambon tote with black patent leather CCs. I bought it for $600 preloved... Couldn't pass up that deal on a 5k bag and i love totes. I am not interested in any other chanel bags. My mom says they look like old lady bags because of the quilting :lolots: but their sunglasses are another story. I utterly adore them and have two pairs that are my favorite sunnies ever.

Hermes, but that's strictly because I could never afford it nor do I live the lavish lifestyle to own up to it. But kudos to everyone on here that is blessed to own anything Hermes!

I laughed when I read "they look like old lady handbags" because I originally typed that then deleted it because I didn't want to offend anyone :coolio:

People that love their bags and don't need validation won't be easily offended. Chanel is a dream bag for a lot of people and a difference in oppions won't change that for people. I can understand your opinion, but I actually find the bag useful and classy.

She said it loudly in Neimans one day, those exact words, and I almost died, i was so embarrassed and trying to shush her while praying no one heard. *dies* it's just the quilting she hates, but i agree her word choices... or at least her timing... could be improved upon. Then again she is quite blunt so I'm used to it! :lolots:

So true. I think the flap is probably the most classic bag ever and anyone I see carrying it just seems all the classier for it. I've wanted to carry it several times but if anything happened to it, I would have a meltdown since it was left to me by a woman who meant the world to me!

What's funny is that every time I carry the Cambon, people assume it's fake because they were so heavily faked. It's one of my favorite bags, though. I love the hot pink lining.

One of my biggest issues with the Chanel quilted bags (besides the price of course!) is that I have a very casual lifestyle and there is no way that I would even feel comfortable carrying such a prestigious bag wearing my jeans, etc. Just not my thing.
If I had a different lifestyle and had a profession that supported that look then maybe. Actually no, even if I did have that type of job I'd probably choose another style of bag.
Just personal preference.

You'd be surprised how these 'fancy' bags look good with jeans and T-shirt.
