Louis Vuitton is my favorite brand, but I only like:

Monogram Canvas (a little overdone where I live though)
Damier Canvas
Epi (my absolute favorite- quality but subtle, no logos)
Vernis
Suhali (wayyy too expensive for me though!)

Though some of the LV trend/seasonal bags that come out are cute, I don't like most of them, Esp. the multicolor logo- it's very young, maybe only good for 21 and under?

I really hate any bag made in China, some of the mid priced one are and all the Coach ones. Hate them even if the design appeals to me. Don't like monograms and eccessive gold or silver and absolutely NO PINK.

LV Miroir, LV Cerise, LV perfo ... all the weird ones.
COACH I can't stand this brand, it's a rip off of LV and it looks cheap. Any pther brand that ''pretends'' to be designer and that is really just a cheap rip off of other brands I can't stand it.

oh my gosh I totally agree. So many people are huge damier lovers and I can't stand it! I don't see what is pretty about it! I had to laugh at "grandpa slippers"!! I keep looking at pics of damiers and it just has never looked nice to me. So masculine and ugly. Ok please don't hate me everyone...I know you are all seething!!

I'm cracking up because with the exclusion of Kate Spade, D&B and LV, I own all the above bags... in multiples. Obviously LUV 'EM.

I'm thinking the same ppl concur about hating/loving the same styles of bags.

I think I look more at the individual bag, not necessarily the designer. They all seem to have sparks of genius and mediocrity. I don't want to buy a bag just because everyone wants it. I try to pick the ones I feel I can carry - todays trends that are future vintage . . . And I am so happy when I don't like a bag because then I don't want it :smile1: But we are all different so I am glad there is a bag for everyone . . .

Bags I know I don't like (thankfully) Fendi spi, B bag, YSL muse, Dior gaucho, Chanel Cabas vinyl (I like the leather)

Also Hermes bags - I know people love them and I look at my friends bags but to me it is the same bag and boring - am I crazy? I do see the quality . . . But people carry them so much as a status symbol - more than any other bag that I know . . . Plus spending all that money on one bag would take all my fun away. And once you buy an Hermes, can you even go "back down" to the lower status/pricebags? Can you still carry lower priced high end ;) designer bag and not feel like you are downgrading yourself?

gucci fan, I used to hate Vernis too! But now I love it (and especially in pink)... LOL

handbagdreamer, excellent post! I agree with you on many points, especially regarding having a bag as expensive as Hermes, I personally would find it difficult to go back to other cheaper (compared to Hermes) high end designer brands. Very insightful!
