After careful consideration, I've decided not to allow attachment deletion.
First of all, everyone should only post images publicly that they are 100% comfortable with being displayed on the Internet. Make a healthy decision on privacy / comfort level first, post later.
Secondly, like it was already mentioned, many threads "break" when images don't load / are removed, which makes valuable resource threads obsolete.
And thirdly, there is no image attachment quota that users could reach, hence they don't have to clear up space to allow for new images to be posted.
