Delayed shipment from Germany using DHL Germany/Deutsche Post - and I'm using premium

Here is latest update: I got the search request filed, also I got the case number ( which is not any good since I cannot check the status on my search result online, I can only use the case number as calling to Deusch Post).
Anyways, my husband called two times to Deusch Post ( he has to get translator because it's not only that Post office do not talk English or they claim they don't, they are being pretty rude and hang up ... So we have to spend hours on phone with translator to get a hold of superviser). So the superviser said that the package stuck in Germany because of piglets strike ( which happens to happen around the date the package suppose to leave Germany). USPS also confirmed that the package never left Germany, also we received a document fromUSPS with number of container where the package was loaded. So today my husband will be calling Deutsch Post again and will ask when are they going to ship the whole container? Also the USPS operator said that it shows that the container weights 2000 pounds , so I suppose there are many packages missing...

The seller said that she called the Deutsch Post and said that the Deutsch post has to send her some kind of email with instructions or explanations.... I don't know... It is some kind of craziness, endless circle ... I hope that one day I'll finally receive the package and be done with all of this. It was first time for me that I used DHL and obviously, the last!

I bought a package from germany and it was supposed to be delievered to me in Dubai,UAE.(by deutche post)
Its status hasnt been updated for 7 weeks.yesterday it was updated and its in USA !!
Why is it in there ? And will i ever see it ?

I received the package today with my Hermes Birkin and it was soaking wet, needless to say my mood and my general mental shape , I'll take me awhile to get over it.

I hope that I can fix the bag in H Spa.

It was sent in orange box and in post office pox and it had plastic air bags inside, as for color -it is Alezan color. I got it authenticated with Bababebi

No , there was minimal insurance of €500, which I hope I will get sooner or later

How could the bag be soaking wet when packed in two boxes unless the carrier let it sit outside in the rain? I would take this up with DHL and also with the seller who obviously under-insured the bag.

yeah, good luck to that. I hope that you made pictures of the soaking wet parcel if you didn't refuse to accept the item.

The 500 Euros means that that amount will be covered by DHL no matter whose fault it was. Everything above those 500 Euros has to be judged by DHL who will - for sure - claim insufficient packaging, so you NEED pictures at least. Normally you are supposed to open every parcel and to check the content while the delivery persons is standing right in front of you. Only then you should sign the papers, which nobody does. I learnt that lesson the hard way. Say a bathtube... *sigh*

DHL by itself says that you have to open a ticket at your national delivery which is UPS?
I hate DHL international too. Inner European-deliveries work pretty well, but don't you try to receive something from the USA. It's a never ending story. Alone the taxing and declaration fees they add are ... don't get me started. And I ALWAYS have to call them and to remind them of the paperwork that always won't be attached to the goods. Always like... always.

You need to contact the seller and ask him why the package is in the USA? I once bought something online and they sent it to me by deutche post and i never received it. It was supposed to reach me in Abu DHabi. The seller told me to wait few days while he check up with deutche post. My package was supposed to arrive in November 21th last year and i never got it. So the seller refunded me.

From now on i will never agree to any shipping service either than DHL or UPS

I know this is a late reply but I just saw this post. It's just that I had exactly the reverse happen to me a few years back with a package I ordered from a Farfetch boutique in Poland. I'm in the US but my package was routed by DHL to Dubai. Weird, right?

I really wish I saw this post earlier! I have my friend in Germany buy a luxury designer bag and send it to me in U.S, since it is much cheaper there. Neither of us has much experience shipping items from Germany to the US, and we just chose DHL premium shipping. My friend was told the package should arrive within 6 business days. Now, it has been almost 10 days since the last update of the shipping status, which shows on May 01, 2017, IPZ-Ffm, Germany "The shipment will be transported to the destination country and, from there, handed over to the delivery organization. "

Have read all these horrible stories, I know I really should pay extra and use DHL express or FedEx... But now, any suggestion? Should I just ask my friend to file an investigation or try to contact USPS to see whether it is stuck in the Customs? Any advice would be appreciated!
