does anyone know what happens if you add more glitter to a DL polish? I tried to make a glitter in the air "dupe" on my own. I managed to find the same size and color glitter online. But the nail polish I tried to use isn't great for glitter.
I love GITA but I wanted more glitter in it, would it be ok if I added it?
Has anyone tried it?

Not all glitter will work for nail polish, so you might want to test it in a cheap polish first. I've heard that sometimes the glitter will melt.

I used the glitter in another polish. The big hexs lost their color. But the smaller ones stayed pink and blue. The polish wasn't for glitter though. The hexs stuck to the bottle and don't move when I shake it :( that's why I gave in and bought GITA hehe

How many other np brands make polishes with this kind of hex glitter? I'd never seen any before (hence my excitement ) but I'm not up to speed with the latest developments in the np world - some of my bottles of OPI are about 10 years old!

Barry M makes a great one called Hexagram.

Sometimes when I want more depth with the hexagrams. I do a base color, barry m hexogram then the DL polish.

I personally am not buying the way they are saying Yellow Brick Road is supposed to be sheer. I think that like any other yellow jelly, the formula sucks and you need a lot of coats to make it opaque; they're just marketing it so that people think that's what they planned all along. I'd like to see how it compares to other yellow jellies like OPI's Need Sunglasses or The It Color.

I saw a pic on Scandalously Polished that made it look disgusting - like nicotine stained nails or something. But then I saw some swatches later on that made it look more like RBL's Square pants, which made me like it again.

I do like the look in the swatches where it seems to be opaque, but I don't think the price is justifiable for another yellow that requires 4-5 coats. I think yellows are hard enough for most people to pull off (not that I care) but sheer yellow is just blech. I think I have a pretty neutral skin tone (warm undertones with some cool overtones?) so I can get away with a pretty wide range of colors but sheer yellow is like the one color that I think looks really unflattering on me.

You are so, so right. I saw swatches of it the other day, and I honestly wasn't that impressed. What makes it different from any other yellow jelly? Sure, it's a nice yellow - but is it an $18 yellow?

So I finally got my polishes:

My Lippmann collection is going to be almost the same as yours (minus Happy Birthday)!

Yeah, that's the thing, anyone can (and does) make a 4-to-5-coat yellow, I honestly don't understand the hype surrounding this color. It's not particularly unique, nor is the formula above average. :shrugs:
