First of all, a sweet present that touched me. A friend gave me this blue silk scarf in a sort of Dutch delftware pattern to remind me of the lovely golden weekend in Amsterdam in June. I really needed that weekend, because the last term at university was horrendously difficult and I was at the end of my tether. But it was madness to say I’d submit two dissertations early and go away on the long weekend that the dissertations were due, for a trip to the Vermeer exhibition (in its final days!!)
I am usually a very sensible person. It was not sensible to finish my dissertations as fast as I could and go for a jaunt. So this scarf is actually a reminder that I can (occasionally) be non-sensible and self indulgent and nothing bad will happen as a result

Next up, my friends who were reading this (let’s face it, it’s basically a photo diary) will remember that while the world was stocking up on toilet paper and tinned goods during the pandemic, I filled a whole drawer with candles. Candles are my desert island comfort item. So it’s quite nice to have a new set of candles for various moods 
My birthday present from Mr Dawn is this LV key pouch “By The Pool”. I think it was the last one in the U.K., and he bought it a few weeks before my birthday, but I only just opened it. I already have the matching cardholder from a few years ago, which I use as an everyday key cards holder (office pass, travel card etc)

I also (finally!) unboxed this very slim card case / wallet from Saint Laurent. I love the shiny black box leather. I think I need the Manhattan bag from SL in this shiny black box (don’t I? Do I?!)
Another story! Many years ago, I bought this LV Epi Trio wallet - key pouch, pouch and cardholder. I loved it. Then I lost the cardholder and that’s made me sad for years. So when it came up for sale in pretty much new condition from an international website, I paid exorbitant import duties and ordered it. So now I have a full set again! I realised I’d forgotten to include this treat purchase a few months ago, so I included it in the group picture now, also because it matched the pinks LV theme and I’m a very matchy matchy person

Hi Miss Dawn. Thanks for taking the time to share pictures and stories of your new goodies. Congrats on all your new pretties. I love that you picked the beautiful aquamarine pendant to remind you of this special achievement — an outstanding achievement indeed 
. I am envious you were able to get the pink BTP key pouch. (I was trying to be good and not get it since I have other key pouches but in the end, I still wanted the pink but it sold out and never restocked here 
). It’s a perfect companion to the cardholder. Loving all the pink and magenta SLGs you got — the more pink stuff the better . And the blue and white scarf is such a lovely and thoughtful gift — such a sweet friend. This blue and white color way also reminds me of LV’s 2023 BTP — I am eyeing a bandeau in this color way.

Mr Dawn tells me I’m terrible at just being. I feel quite flat that I don’t have any extracurricular mission any more, and it’s making me feel all restless and questioning about life! I was telling my friend H that I’m having a mid life crisis at the grand old age of 37 (and she challenged me that my life expectancy must be longer than 74 years in today’s day and age…)
But your advice is obviously sound, and I must rest and relax. Find and do more things that bring me joy!

I have worn the blue scarf a lot—it’s not really something I do, to wear scarves, I never feel old or sleek enough. But now that I’m in my late 30s (37!!!!!) I feel I’m old enough and I’ve found that it’s a lovely match with a shirt I bought in Istanbul this summer.
And I’ve worn the aquamarine pendant so many times! I even bought a light blue blazer to match it. Lovely secret memory of a mad decision to study more while working full time (very few people at work know!), but it gives me a sense of achievement

I have so many now… Travelling in style in the Algarve last week… (more stories to come…)The picture of the Prada camera bag with the Inflight bag in the background was more to celebrate an organised mummy moment by sending a picture to a friend… for once I had exactly the right distraction device with me, to calm down Baby Dawn (now 3 so not really a baby!) at the airport. A friend had brought her this pack of phonics books from the US and I had stashed them in my bag. I got Baby Dawn to eat a snack, read a book and fall asleep in her buggy while we were waiting for Mr Dawn to pick up our rental car!!
I felt like a proper smug mummy. Which never ever ever happens—I never have the right snacks or distraction devices

It was a very pink and blue themed acquisition of accessories! I hope you are well. Have you acquired any pretty pens recently? I have been very restrained in my stationery purchases although I did recently get a pink colourblock Waterman which I thought you’d love!
