Great to see your update Miss Dawn . Can’t believe it’s been a month since we last saw you here (time flies!!!). Glad to hear your conference went well and you are starting strong in your last term at the university (hang in there — you are so close to accomplishing this major goal!). And what exciting news about the new job offer — glad to hear you were able to sort things out and decide quickly. It’s wonderful that you know where you want to go in your career and have a clear path. Excellent decision

Your new Gucci D is gorgeous! I have always liked this bag and especially love the jeweled hardware closure. This color is gorgeous and I am looking forward to hearing what name you will give her.

It's exiting you had a new job offer and realized you are already on the path you have chosen! That is a wonderful place to be, and I hope you find peace in having decided. I know you are counting the days to the end of classes and it will be here soon. I know you will do it all well.

My dear friends, I hope you are all well!

The weather has changed and it looks like spring / early summer in London, which lifts the spirits. My roses are starting to bloom.

I’ve had a few weeks away, visiting family in April, with Mr Dawn and Baby Dawn. It was wonderful to be with family, but between all of us being sick and 2.5-year old Baby Dawn being very unsettled and difficult plus a university assignment to complete and some work to do remotely… gosh, it wasn’t very restful!

I know I post rarely now. I do have some beautiful things to update on

1) I finally found a Chanel cosmetics pouch SLG. It was really kind of a SA I met in Selfridges a while ago to text me that she’d received one and I was too busy to go pick it up but Mr Dawn called and paid remotely and it arrived, perfect piece. My black SLG caviar collection is heart sing-worthy
2) For Mother’s Day (in March in the U.K.) Mr Dawn gave me a beautiful solitaire diamond in a yellow gold bezel set. We chose it together; it was a style I wanted in my jewellery wardrobe for awhile. Unfortunately, I have no earrings to match, so now I need to get some…
3) My parents also gave me some beautiful pendant sets, one in black onyx and one in mother of pearl. I attach the black one, which is very pretty
4) A picture of my weekly bouquet. Now that we have a garden studio, which we installed just before last summer, we don’t have the huge expanse of garden from the little kitchen balcony, but it’s still such a peaceful view for London. I really need to try to take time to stop and (literally) smell the roses as we go into summer!
5) I’ll attach a picture of the garden studio outside and inside too. All the peace I need to try to find!

They’re 1 carat total weight (0.5 carat in each ear) and carefully chosen GIA stones so they look sparkly but daily wear when I wear them. I’ve been enjoying these small additions to my jewellery collection more than bags recently!

Another recent purchase, to celebrate the end of my masters (yayyyy!) was this beautiful Montblanc pen.

I haven’t received my results yet! Will get those in a few weeks. But at least I’ve finished for now (unless I find I’ve failed… surely not… )

What other small life updates should I share?

My life is not very exciting. It’s basically just work and some home stuff, but I did, somewhat impulsively take off for a 4-day weekend in Amsterdam last month, to see the Vermeer exhibition at the Rijksmuseum. It was incredibly challenging to fit it, as I was submitting my last pieces of work for my masters, and had to get two dissertations finished early, so that I could take off. With our at the time 2, nearly 3 year old toddler (she’s now just turned 3!!), which brings a whole other world of fun to manage around in travelling

But I was so glad we did it. It was a lovely sunny golden weekend and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.

To bring my rambling photo diary loosely back on theme, I bought a SLG in Amsterdam! I haven’t taken my own photos of it, but I got this very slim black wallet in box leather from Saint Laurent. I felt like I needed a superbrand version of these very slim practical wallets, to be able to use when I’m carrying very mini bags

Hi Miss Dawn, beautiful collection! How do you like your Anya Hindmarch Inflight bag? Is the quality good?

I love it! I’ve carried it a few times now, for a trip to Brussels and another to Amsterdam, as well as a weekend away in the countryside and I find it very practical. Quality is great.

I have in fact built up quite a little collection of Anya Hindmarch’s labelled collection…

The latest item to arrive was this dinky little vanity kit that I ordered right before the Amsterdam trip! I need more makeup or makeup bags like I need a hole in my head, so please don’t judge me, my friends

Hi Miss Dawn . Well, how pretty are those earrings? So glad you got them to match the pendant. Big Congrats on finishing your Masters — that is a huge accomplishment in itself but to do it at the same time while you were working insane hours and taking care of a toddler is an extraordinary feat . That’s great you were able to go to Amsterdam for a few days — always loved your photo collages . Also thanks for sharing your new MontBlanc and YSL wallet — love these pretty but practical treats.
