So after calling every day (to no avail!) and even queuing up at Chanel Brussels when I was on a business trip, Mr Dawn called me while I was at work this week and told me that a SA had called him and reserved the beige Coco Handle for him  I was so so happy.

He braved it into city during the rail strikes and brought it home for me  And then it sat around, boxed up, all week till Sunday night because I’ve been so intensely busy that I wanted to savour its unboxing properly! Just opened it up and I’m blown away by how beautiful it is.

Meet Cocoa, my new Coco Handle. My heart sings with joy, looking at her!

Oh I am so happy -- and not surprised at all — that Mr Dawn found your bag for you. He is the most successful/determined shopper that I know of. He finds the most hard-to-get, most sought-after bags for you time and time again. Cocoa is absolutely gorgeous—so elegant and classy, perfect for you. It’s a wonderful addition to your beautiful collection. I too would be over the moon if I ever got this bag. Big Congrats my friend . Have a great week .

Gorgeous! Yay, so glad you were able to add this beauty to your collection. :drinks: Love this shade of beige.
Thank you so much P&P! I was so happy to finally find it! Every time I look at my bags, I have felt I need more beige, and this dark beige / camel is a lovely addition.
What a happy story in the end! Mr. Dawn is your hero again! Cocoa is beautiful, right down to her chain and leather strap! I look forward to seeing her on adventures. I also enjoyed seeing Plummy on an outing (with beautiful flowers too!) and with a what's in my bag display. I enjoyed seeing your so lovely Valentine coat!
I’ve been carrying my Plummy with my coat! They look great together, especially when I add a plum Burberry cashmere scarf.

I haven’t carried Cocoa yet! I’m waiting for the right moment!

Dearest @Iamminda you’re so sweet! I’m so happy to have Cocoa in my collection, but I haven’t carried her yet!

Agree, and I really like this shade of dark beige. It's a more versatile color than beige claire in my opinion. Enjoy your bag, Miss_Dawn, and looking forward to seeing action pictures of Miss Cocoa in the near future.

Popping by to wish my friends a lovely Christmas and new year ahead! Xx

Two pictures… our tree, in the grown up space of the house, far away from the busy destructive little hands of Baby Dawn! And a charm that came with the holiday packaging of a Chanel perfume I bought today. I thought it made a pretty charm bracelet!

I have been very very good and no bag purchases since Cocoa! (Although that’s not really a merit when I have no time to go shopping, but ssssshhhh, let’s agree I’ve been very very good )

Happy Holidays Miss Dawn! So good to see your post . What a beautiful tree you have and I really like that charm. You have such a gorgeous collection of bags — good job on not adding more bags to your collection since your last post (regardless of the reason even if just being too busy with other stuff). Baby Dawn must be so big now and quite the active little girl. Enjoy the holidays with your beautiful family  .

Happy new year my dear friends!

A quick update from me.

The good news is—after an insanely busy year (with full time work, part-time masters and a 2-year old!!) in which most of the holiday I took was for childcare or studies, we have had a lovely 2-3 week break over Christmas and new year. Saw family, friends, and had a long break in the south of France. I didn’t realise that “wintering in Nice” was a thing, but we became the English cliche, and I felt very happy!

The bad news is I have university exams next week plus back to work tomorrow, with my usual intense workload! Ah well, I will live to tell the tale! My masters will be finished late spring / early summer and I can’t wait!

(Also, because I’m a freak workaholic, I’ve also been told my grades in the first year are enough to secure a distinction in the masters as long as I pass my second year. Does that relax me? Nooooo…! So I’m currently very tense about next week!!)

Here is a collage of my winter break, and hints of my two new purchases (which I don’t have time to unbox … presents from Mr Dawn for Christmas/anniversary…*)

* if you think my anniversary comes around too often, you’d be right… @Addicted to bags would say “another year passed?” But actually we celebrate two anniversaries, one in summer and one in winter. Every woman should have as many anniversaries as she can get away with:graucho:

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas break and the best for the year ahead xx

Dearest @Iamminda thank you! And for appreciating my restraint on not buying more bags

Actually the latest things Mr Dawn and I went shopping for in Nice were not bags either. Unboxing photos to follow when I finally open them (!) but it’s a Louis Vuitton perfume (Coeur Battant), and Chanel shoes (classic ballerina flats in black) No bags!

Baby Dawn is indeed quite big and very talkative now  Returning to London after a few weeks away has been a shock because she keeps asking to go in the sky (planes and ferris wheels!)

Xx

Happy New Year Miss Dawn, Mr Dawn and Baby Dawn :). Great to see your posts and thanks for the update. Glad you had a lovely winter break — must have been so pretty and festive there in the S of France. Love the collage (been missing your collages). Sounds like you have another intense year of school/work ahead so I am glad you had a little down time to refresh and recharge. Most excellent news about your academic success — you got this and will surely do great in your second year!!! I thought you were just going to tease us  and with those pretty shopping bags (aren’t the Lego bags fun?) with no reveals but am glad the reveals are coming later (please don’t make us wait too long). See you back here soon :)

Happy New Year Miss Dawn! Your picture collage is like a beautiful postcard! I love the images! Congratulations on your school success, and I hope the rest flies by so you can find more time to relax. It is wonderful you got the much needed three weeks away, and I really want to hear how you get to have two anniversaries! Great idea! Is one your dating anniversary? Hmmm I might need to try that since I remember the date too. I look forward to your unboxings.

Dear @Iamminda, no not just teasing you! Finally unboxed my new shoes and perfume yesterday! Pictures to follow and I’m wearing the new ballerinas already, today!

I have two anniversaries (maybe 3, when we remember!) because we also celebrate the engagement and other meaningful dates :cool::lol: I may also have mentioned somewhere in this thread that we have a made up day of celebration in April because it’s too long between days to celebrate from valentines to my birthday in July…!

I suggest you absolutely tell Mr Teal that it’s time to commemorate your dating anniversary!!:biggrin: the more the merrier!!!

What a crazy week!!

Sunday afternoon. Currently in a car, golden sunshine, driving through the countryside—being taken to a conference, which I need to attend. I really don’t feel like attending it…

However, one of our Board members whom I don’t know that well has referred me to this conference circuit that is really important to him, and I don’t want to let him down as I’m touched that he’s taken a risk by referring me (who he doesn’t know well). He told me that it’s one of the most career accelerating things he’s ever done and that it is a signal I am not “up and coming”, but that I have “arrived”

Arrived where exactly? My life is nuts…

In the meantime, I ended my exams on Friday, and spent a lot of quality time with Mr and Baby Dawn yesterday and this morning! I slept at 3 am last night because after packing for today, we rearranged Baby Dawn’s playroom. Went shopping yesterday for toys, and then did a bit of a clear-out of things she’s outgrown. She’s now nearly 2.5 years old and we’ve made a little tent play area for her in the corner of the living room, which she was so excited about this morning!!

We also took her to her first (kiddy show) theatre outing in the morning which was not successful. She cried and was unsettled and we ended up leaving half way… I guess we will have to work at civilising her and keep trying with outings :lol:

In terms of pretty new things…
- I bought some dangling Monica Vinader earrings in the sale, and then Mr Dawn ordered a matching small necklace for me as a “GLBB” (good luck boo boo ) present before my exams. Although it arrived yesterday, after my exams ended on Friday!

- I am wearing my new Chanel ballerinas to my conference. Unboxing pictures below.

- I have also unboxed my new Louis Vuitton perfume. Although, to be fair, perfumes don’t really count as unboxings as I use up and start new bottles all the time

Yes finally , we have your unboxing — worth the wait my friend :). Your earrings are so pretty and sparkly. This is such a great addition to your beautiful jewelry collection. And so sweet of Mr Dawn to get you a good luck present — he is the best and most thoughtful. I am glad to hear you are already enjoying your lovely new ballerinas, they look stylish and comfortable, I know you like this style of shoes. I think a new perfume count as an unboxing — at least I count all types of treats and pretty goodies as unboxings .

Happy to hear you are done with your exams and excited to hear about your conference tomorrow. I love the Board member’s comment about it being a sign you have arrived . That is great unsolicited validation of all your hard work and excellence :). Enjoy the moment, enjoy the conference — I know you will do great tomorrow :). Come back soon to update us ok? :)

It’s taken me a month to come back to this thread!!

So much has happened in the past month.

The conference I wrote about last time was fine. Very demanding but a good thing to do. I then went back to work after the whirlwind of exams and the conference and I had a lot of challenging projects to deliver, which are now largely under control.

My next term started and this one feels like the hardest yet. It is however, my last taught term. It will finish in end of March and then I just have a couple of reports to write for uni by June and I’ll graduate in July…. If I last that long!

I also had an unsettling period at work because I received an approach for a job that I’d thought I would have wanted. In the government, setting policy in an area I specialise in. Very very senior—a lot of status. But it took me hardly any time to say no. I want to grow to the board of my own company. It was unsettling to go through the thought process, but it has crystallised what I think I want, which must be a good thing!

This weekend is Valentine’s. My friends will know that this is Mr Dawn’s favourite holiday. This year he didn’t give me one big box of things all together, but he gave me things as he bought them, and I haven’t managed to photograph them in bits and pieces

They have been:
- Laduree macaroons
- Diptyque candle
- 4 Pandora charms
- and a “shopping trip” on our weekend away. I bought a few small goodies plus one big goodie—a beautiful Gucci Dionysus (picture attached!)

I’m also attaching some pictures of a couple of my new Anya Hindmarch travel bags. Feel so stylish using these!

I hope all my friends are well and that you have a lovely valentines weekend xx
