Funny thing about this, I was in the LV Boutique in the Galleria last night and I asked the sales person about the date code, and she said not all of the (authentic) purses have them. I was sort of surprised.:amazed:

KK,
Yes the datecode seems right but the purse is quite old...10 years! Are you getting a good deal on it?

10 years? How do you know it's 10 years old? Well, I think it's ok price for the condition, $350 now, $900 new. What do you think?

if your date code is AR0916, that means the bag was produced in January 1996.

the first and third numbers are the month
the second and fourth numbers are the year.

Thank you:p ! I never bothered with date code before joining the forum, PF has enlightened me. I only bought from LV store before so no need to bother, but this might be the very first time buying an used LV for me:laugh:, nervous but excited.

Thank you! YOu learn something new everyday.

Off the topic, I just bought a French wallet and so dissapointed that it is was Made in the USA. Come on, it's a $550 wallet!!! Maybe it's because I bought it from LV Neiman Marcus?

both of my damier pieces were made in Spain...

as long as you know your LV is authentic, why does it matter where it was made??

Come on you guys...I would be disappointed and I have been when my LV Mono french purse was stamped "made in usa" because I wanted a french made product as LV is a french brand. To me, buying luxury items are not just style or quality it's also branding and authenticity. I would never buy a Chanel or Hermes..."made in usa," would you?

I will say again, would I "prefer" made in france? Maybe...but with so many people in the U.S.A. out of work and so many LV's being made in other countries it really doesn't bother me. When a dear friend lost his job and home because of GM cut backs. Thank you LV for putting some people to work in the U.S.!
