Feel free to be insulted, but it only tells me you've totally missed my point. My opinion on this issue is well known and I stand by it.

No, I don’t get personally insulted but it is insulting to American workers and artisans to compare their work and value to a 2nd world country. What’s wrong with the piece? Zippys are typically not difficult to craft.

Hi there, I'm not sure if there is a post for this, but I am hoping someone can help. I received my purchase from Lv with a date code that is beginning with JG. Has anyone experienced this? I thought there would be no date codes as of March...and in the interior it says made in Spain. However, this lettering code is unfamiliar to me. Thanks.
can i see your date code i got my pen case too with this JG date code

Hi! I’m DYING to buy this Keepall bag and I already had it authenticated by Caroldiva but I’m so confused about the date code! It makes no sense to me. Looks like 3 numbers? The seller says made in USA (date code SD) but I don’t see it in the photos and I’ve tried googling and I just am lost. Is it super vintage and actually made in France? Are those three numbers faded because it’s old? Maybe the seller is confused and it’s the old SD that was a code for France once?

Hi All! I understand The ET code means production in France and in the 1980s (Correct me if I’m wrong!) but the item I’m looking to by preloved has numbers 0962 after ET. Is this item authentic? As it’s made in the year 1992? Thanks!!

I think I've hit the right place to get an answer. I'm seeing here that LV stopped putting date stamps in wallets and such. I bought a small mono zippy last year that had the Made in France stamp, so I never bothered looking for the code. Today I received a (poorly made) large mono zippy wallet. It only has "Louis Vuitton" and "Paris" stamped on the inside. How are we supposed to find out where they were made? I don't mind their wallets made in Spain, but I will not fork out a small fortune for a Made in the US. I'm the same way about Prada and their Made in China. Is there a way to find where it was made? I ordered this online from LV. Not near a shop.

I'm SO sick of designers continuing to raise their prices, lower their quality and hide the country of manufacture. Grr!
If it just has "Louis Vuitton Paris" then it is most likely made in the USA. I have a Damier Ebene wallet from 2017 that was made in the USA. I think mine was made very well and it still looks like new to me. I haven't purchased from LV since 2019 so it's quite a change not seeing the date codes anymore. I liked seeing when it was made, but I'm not sure how you can tell now. If you are unhappy with the quality then definitely return or exchange. It is a lot for a wallet. I have been happy overall with their small leather goods. But, it's true that not all LV items are flawless. All of my leather wallets are made in France, but my canvas key pouch and mini PA are made in France so I don't know the rhyme or reason.

I sent it back the next day. I wish I had thought to take a picture of it. The stitching on the inside was crooked and and not even attached to the leather! No bueno!

I got lucky though and found this 2013 Sarah on Yoogi's Closet. It's flawless and the perfect nod to Slava Ukraini!

I think you traded up for a better wallet. I love the color combination! I just received my black Zippy wallet in Epi today. I haven't had Epi before, but I always admired that type of leather. It looks good and feels sturdy, and I didn't notice any flaws. I am curious about when it was made since it doesn't have a visible date code.

Definitely a better quality wallet. I never been much of a fan of the mono or damier lines until the past few years. I have loved the Epi and Suhali lines for decades, however. Especially the Suhali line. Can't go wrong with Epi. It's understated, timeless, and elegant LV without advertising it to the world. I've found it to be quite durable as long, but I'm fairly kind to my designer pieces.

Hope this is right place to ask. I have a bag with microchip purchased from a boutique, that I’m thinking of selling because I dont use it very often. I’m concerned that my personal info will be on the microchip and “out there” once I sell this because I am the original purchaser from the store. Does anyone know what degree of private info is in the chip? Full name ? Credit card? LV Account details? Is anyone concerned about this?

None of your info is on the microchip. The bags are manufactured and chipped long before you buy it.

Thanks. I saw some articles talking about the chip and it says it will have info like where it was purchased and by whom - the question is how much info about the purchaser. I guess no one except LV knows. I don't have a problem with LV in their system knowing I sold the bag, it's something I choose to do and live with. Just anyone scanning the bag with an app out there, will they see who bought it originally, or only if the chip is "connected" to the LV system can they see the details.

I don’t believe that info is correct. Best of luck to you.
