Hello,
I'm considering buying a Louis Vuitton Zippy Wallet purse.
Purse is Datacode CA0026, but made in France?
CA code is for Spain.
Is such a combination possible?
I will be very pleased with your answers.

Hi All,

I preordered for Dauphine MM in reverse monogram 2 weeks back from LV store and got it in a week. I saw the date code in the store and collected it. The date code is BL4129, how ever seems like this is invalid date code as there is no country associated with BL. Is this new code? Does any one has a bag with this code? Kindly feedback.

You’ve asked this question in another thread and it was answered. If you’re doubting the authenticity of your bag or questioning the date code, please contact your CA. As @Redenkeew mentioned, you should not doubt it’s authenticity. The date code is generally used for repairs or identifying a batch of items that may be recalled. Enjoy your bag!

It could be a new TX plant code. I would rest easy. You bought in store and the date code is from mid October. It just doesn’t seem likely that there would be scammers so skilled they could produce a bag well made enough to fool the boutique. They could coordinate and produce a tag with a current MO/YR date that doesn’t raise a red flag when returning it. But then after all that they would fail to do a simple google search and add in plant code letters that LV uses quite often.

It’s more likely a new code.

No country code associated with BL? Where? All we have are some fan-made blogs and forums that tried to make a list of these codes during the last few decades. But how are any of those official or up-to-date enough that one could make an assuption that if those don’t have a code listed, it is automatically “invalid”? Come on.

You should give the SAs a bit more credit than that. All these "what ifs" are just unnecessary paranoia that contributes nothing positive to the shopping experience that should be enjoyable but already so intimidating to some.
Every time I stopped by the store it was a zoo in there; always a wait before you’re being helped. At my location they are training A LOT of new SAs. So anything can happen. SAs are only humans and they are overextended. I don’t think it’s paranoia. If date codes are not important why would everyone on the forum obsessed about it? Please don’t dismiss her concerns or my valid question. We are new at this (or at least I am) and she’s trying to get some feedbacks and reassurance. Ultimately it’s still her decision.

The point is that date codes are not a reliable way to determine authenticity and they do not always follow the accepted formula of FFWYWY. The people obsessed with date codes on the forum are usually those with little knowledge about the brand.
PS: @Redenkeew is one of the most knowledgeable members of this forum when it comes to Louis Vuitton. Trust him!

Thank you very much for your explanation! That was very helpful.
And guilty as charged! Lol. The honest truth is I don’t know enough to be able to discern the authentic from the fake. I’m trying to learn more but I’m confused as heck. That’s why personally I have only purchased directly from LV (stores and online). But recently I fell hard for the St Cloud but they are vintage and many decent listings just don’t give you the date codes. Without the date codes I cannot submit to the Authenticate Thread to ask for help. So I just assumed date codes is an important piece to determine authenticity.

I’ve been buying LV for years and rarely check the date code until an issue comes up here. I’ve been buying new and preloved for years and when I resell my items there has never been an issue of an item being fake. Even though the store is busy , I am sure they check the item and have a way to track down the person who returned if there was an issue.....

Thanks all for your responses. Am relatively new to LV and there are lot of information on date code hence wanted to clarify. I also msgd my SA and she said it’s from Paris and don’t have to worry on this. Pardon my ignorance and thanks once again for all the clarifications.
