how does the date code work? How can I tell year and location made?

I can't believe no one answered your question!
Current bags:
2 letters = factory location
numbers 1 and 3 = week of manufacturing
numbers 2 and 4 = year of manufacturing

For example: FO3148
Made the 34th week of 2018.

Be aware that the location of the date code may change, even for the same bag model.

Gotcha'! Was hoping if someone could confirm the possible locations as I'm going to visit a consignment shop to look at one and didn't want to have to fiddle around too much! Thanks for your reply!

Yes, I plan on doing so, thank you. It was already authenticated by another store before buying but my husband already purchased it for me.
