Looking to purchase a Noe and the date code is A2 881 just wanted to ask; How do i know that the bag is no fake?
I'm new at this... Thanks!

You can't tell from a datecode alone; there are many features to look for when determining authenticity. Many fakes have perfectly reasonable datecodes!

You can post in the LV SHOPPING section here on the forum and have the authencitation team cast their eye over it for you, if you have a link to an online sale. Or, if not, you can use one of the paid third party authentication services that have LV specialists.

Thank you!! I will do so :smile1:

dear all
I have a preowned alma bb in givre, but I can't find a date code along the side of inner pocket, is it might be a fake?

It won't be along the side on a vernis Alma BB. It will be to one side at the top of the pocket. It will be quite difficult to see as it's embossed into the textile lining.

Whether you find it or not, can't prove or disprove authenticity via a datecode alone.

Hope that helps.

Hi vernis lover have they changed the date code placement ?? My alma bb has the date code tag in the little pocket on the side. I got mine direct from Louis Vuitton. Just wondering why they move them ? ImageUploadedByPurseForum1397149553.756319.jpg

Yes, they do move datecodes from time to time.

It sounds like this is the case with the Givre one posted about as assume the poster would have found the tab!

Hello, I really want to confirm this ...any help is much appreciated. Will someone please tell me what this date code is PS 0012? What country does the letters stand for? And does the numbers mean first week of 2002? If this is correct then I'm super confused...this date code belongs to a damier graphite keepall 55....didn't the damier graphite collection/line released in 2008? Someone enlighten me, please. Thanks

Never seen a PS country prefix.

It definitely reads as 2002 but in 2002 then it wasn't weeks but months so that would read January 2002.

Would suggest you walk away if that datecode is attached to a DG piece as they certainly won't have been making it 6 years in advance of release!!

Hi everyone, I just purchased my first Louis Vuitton (Eva clutch!) from the Louis Vuitton store. I noticed that on my Eva the leather tab (the one on the end of the zipper) is not stamped with the "Made in ..."

Is this normal or am I being paranoid? The photos on the LV website show the "Made in" stamp, along with the pictures of the Eva I've seen online.

There should be a cloth tag somewhere within the Eva with the "made in" details on it - there are lots of posts on the cloth tags if you want to do a search. Your datecode indicates it was made in the US so the cloth tag would fit with that.

Hope that helps.

Right?! My thoughts exactly...it took me a minute to decipher haha I knew something didn't add up. Even the leather tag that has the date code heat stamps looks really off, however the bag looks so......real?! Ugh crazy scary! I'm going to post this on the authenticate thread, not only to make sure, but to warn others. I've seen it on ebay for quite sometime now...hey I wouldn't be surprised if it hasn't already posted on that thread. Smh ...thank you for your quick response...hope you have a great day!

Thanks for your response. I found the cloth tag inside the eva now I can start using her! :)
