Date Code & "Made In" Questions

I have just recently bought a new Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM direct from Louis Vuitton online, there is no store near me so, this was the only way I could buy new. But, now I need help, please. I have searched high and low for the date code on my bag and can not find one. I have even had my husband look and he can't find one either. The only place we can find a date code at all is on the pouch that now comes with the Neverfull MM. Is that normal? Shouldn't there also be a date code on the bag itself? It also says made in the US on a tag inside the bag but, the date code in the little pouch has the letters SD. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean by authentication letter? From a recognised organisation??
Hi, to be honest I never asked!! She said she has the original receipt and an authentication letter, I kind of wondered why she would need both? Then when she gave me the date code I just decided not to bother. When I asked her about the date stamp she didn't even mention the receipt just said she had gotten it authenticated and had an authentication letter. It just sounded a bit strange and was a lot of money to waste.

SD is a perfectly valid datecode for made in US.

The bag will have a datecode and it should match the datecode on the pouch. Have a look underneath the flap pocket or inside the flap pocket (I've never owned this bag so don't know where it is off the top of my head but someone will be along soon who will know). Hope that helps.

hi again
so I was just checking and searching on google, (don't know if I can post this) but just what I have found. When I typed in the date code to do a search a website came up called poshmark? I have no idea what that is but the person on there was selling a Louis Vuitton speedy 35 with the same date code that I had just asked about and they said they had tried to get it authenticated and was told it was counterfeit? So does that mean that this date code doesn't actually exist? Just thought I would type what I had found online. I don't know much about how the date codes are used etc, just started my collection, think for peace of mind I was better to steer cleer. unless anyone knows any different about the date code thanks

LV don't provide authentication letters. She may have had both as lots of buyers don't trust receipts, for very good reason.

Ask her who the authentication letter was produced by and if she can scan you a copy (it is worth noting that some authentication letters have also been faked too)!

Am not familiar with poshmark but a quick search of Speedys on the site tells me it is littered with fakes.

Can you post a link to the one you found on poshmark or the one you contacted the seller about (they may or may not be the same person) - datecodes are not unique.

I just called Louis Vuitton and they said that the date code in the pouch might be the only date code that their is, there may not be one on the bag but, only the pouch since it is really just one piece. Does that sound right?

I have just decided to get my speedy 35 in DE from the LV website. The link for the seller, no ones in America I think and the other UK. The ebay one the seller has no photos of the date stamp just of the actual bag, I found out the date code by asking her. The link for the poshmark is here, should work. https://poshmark.com/listing/52d6287094c7de3e8401862fThe seller responds to a question asking for the date code further down the page.

The one you have linked to on poshmark is a very obvious counterfeit. Sorry.

If your ebay one is a Mono 40 and is quite expensive and advertised with lock/key and receipt then that's a fake too.

hi vernis lover

yes that is the ebay one, thanks glad I stayed away. I just searched the date code and the one for poshmark came up.(as I was checking to see if the vp existed or not) that poshmark one has the same date code as the ebay one. Its amazing the lengths people go to, to sell a fake as an authentic. thanks again

I've just looked at the poshmark advert again - the seller isn't trying to pass her bag off as authentic. She says it's "inspired" !!

As for the ebay seller .... well, just :nono:
