my Enchant-me oversize in matte taupe finally arrived, well I am not that happy, the bag has marks all over on the front side, backside is without any marks and the leather there is perfect, I tried carefully some apple conditioner to "wipe" the marks out, but it did not help at all
what do you think ??

Hi Susa, I"m really sorry to hear this. I have to say that my taupe has markings all over it too and some are quite deep. They show on my bag as white which makes it quite noticeable.

I just enjoy my bag anyway and try my best to ignore it but I can totally understand why your upset. My taupe arrived in perfect condition from day one and unfortunately it's just the nature of this matte leather that with very gentle wear in a few weeks that this happened to my bag. I keep telling myself it gives it character? But to be honest it's a very delicate leather as are several BE leather's IMHO. I've mentioned this on the PF to everyone and I think other's have much better luck with the choco matte and dark grey. The pebbled leather's are fine too.

I'd contact Jackie immediately and perhaps she can offer you a couple options. Good Luck!

i have not used the bag, it is brandnew, so these marks did not come with wear
the backside of the bag is perfect, no marks at all, it is a pity that they did not use these leather parts for the front

i have a wtm in matte tan, and i use it a lot, no marks and lines at all

Jackie says that this is normal, matte leather has natural markings
I just did not know this before, and never saw bags in matte leather with this kind of markings here

i have to learn from this experience, I will not do Couture again in future, since I cannot return the bag if there are issues like this

Hi Susa

I've got 3 bags in matte leather (tan, choco and dark grey) and none of them have these markings although they do have natural grain shading/markings. It's a pity about this. I'd keep massaging conditioner into the leather over a period of time and hopefully these will begin to blend into the background!

Your welcome! I just didn't want you to feel like it's just your taupe bag.

Yes if my bag arrived that way I'd be quite upset. I inspected mine and it was perfect but then within a few weeks the markings started all over and it just keeps getting worse to be honest. I've tried massaging etc... but nothing works because the leather actually becomes damaged with deep white marks on mine. I've just resigned myself to wearing it this way and ignoring but it shouldn't be that way either. Sorry your having this experience!

I know what Jackie says about it being normal. I suppose this is normal for BE so in that sense I agree.;)

Definetely be very careful with BEC!

Good luck and keep us posted how it resolves or if you find something that helps.

Do you mean those very obvious wide paler stripes? If so, I don't like either them or the way that they are running at different angles on the two sides of the bag. The bag is substandard and should be replaced. Has Jackie seen those photos?

Yes but I would say that there are degrees of marking that are acceptable or not on expensive leather goods.

Why didn't they try to cut and piece the leather to make the marks run at the same angle - all horizontal or all diagonal?

Surely Jackie can't have seen the evidence and still think that the atelier has done a good job with this bag?

And that's a very good question. I"m suspect to think that Jackie might've said this is considered normal (Susa mentioned that was her response in one of the above posts) but her reply will really tell the tale on BE's customer service since I couldn't agree with you more!!

I really hope Jackie resolves this appropriately. It's one thing when this happens naturally over the course of time then when it arrives in this condition.

I only purchase matte and crash leathers. I'm a big believer in the fact that leather has natural markings and frankly that is what I like about it. However, white marks in a striped pattern are not "natural" imo. I think you should contact BE. If you pay for BE couture, you should expect to have a pristine bag for that price. I think the return policy should only apply to bags that were delivered as ordered. That's so sad that you waited with anticipation, only to be disappointed.

Shall we wait to hear whether Jackie has seen the images? She may not have and may agree when she does.

Yes , she has seen the photos, and she says that it is normal with matte leather
i do not agree with her, I agree that matte leather has natural marks, but not those light grey stripes all over it, the backside is perfect (with natural marks)
for me it is an issue, for Jackie it is not , I am disappointed after waiting 3,5 months for this couture bag
I use to have other bags in matte leather, like mulberry and also the wtm in tan, they aged perfectly without marks like this, but anyhow , this EM is brandnew, just arrived today

I'm very surprised to hear that because, to me, this is a reject product that should be marked down and sold at a very reduced price to a customer who has seen it and does not mind or not at all.
