Thanks for the update.

It's certainly going to be interesting to see if BE is still around in 5 years at this rate!

I truly believe you should have a brand new bag made for you IF that's what you desire. I agree with all your concerns about the delicacy of the matte leather being re-lined.

Good Luck LL.

P.S. I do agree with Kings20 that you're bag is quite pretty. I hope you can still enjoy regardless of all this stress.

LL,

IMO if you're planning on keeping the bag, the least BE can do is give you a discount of some sort. How frustrating! I have never ordered from BEC, but I would expect my order to be EXACTLY as I have specified if I did.

Nonetheless, your bag is gorgeous! I hope you can enjoy using her without being frustrated.

I agree, that no company will want to lose LL as a customer :)

Ditto. LL is a dream customer for any designer. She's even willing to keep something other than what she ordered, which is asking way too much from a customer who's paying a substantial amount of money for a handbag. Me? I wouldn't keep it; I would expect BE to send me the bag I ordered.

I then was told that the factory did check my bag but got confused between light blue and beige lining.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME! These colors are not even close. If the place making these bags can't tell the difference between BLUE and BEIGE, we have issues.

I have too much going on to deal with this crap so I think I am just going to suck it up and keep the bag and not deal with them further. I haven't replied to their last email and dont plan to.

Sorry to hear this. Obviously these lining colors are very different -- I wonder if there is a language issue in whoever is checking the order (e.g., English is not first language).

^^

I was thinking about that too Chris. Even so, if someone wasn't sure they should double check and make sure they are making the correct bag. SOmething as simple as a lining color should not be messed up, IMO.

Yes, I don't know if language is an issue, but it would probably be a good idea for BE to evaluate this (if they haven't already) and if it is a problem, to identify a solution.

So sorry to hear this LL. You would think that if it were a language issue, that the orders received by phone or email from London surely should have been transcribed in the native language (Italian)

This is unsettling, as I remember specifically reading that someone got the wrong color lining, and the reply from BE was that the workshop thought the substitued color "looked better". I surely hope the workshop is not taking liberties based on supply or artistic license.

I agree no company in their right mind would want to lose LL as a customer.

No way. That's a joke...isn't it? Has to be...

I was looking at the hardware on my Hug Me and I noticed that the corner of the square hardware that holds the handle to the bag had a minor imperfection. Nothing I'm complaining about but just wanted to put this out there and see if anyone has had a similar issue. Pics attached.

IIRC, BE said that at least FOUR people check the bags before they are sent out. Language issue or not, what is the point of having FOUR people check the bag, and still send out the wrong bag? What I really can't get over though is that FOUR people can miss the obvious.

I'm a great fan of BE and despite having mistakes in my orders, I haven't yet had a CS let-down thus far. I will still continue to use BEC, but to be honest, each time I worry (a lot!) until the baby is safe in my arms. There's always a lot of joy and excitment in building my bag, but the anxiety and worrying thereafter is very stressful.

I agree with many posts above. Like Peppy, I haven't had any problems and the majority of my bags have been through BEC. I love the bags I have.

However, I think the anxiety around BEC could be cleared up very quickly if we actually got a straight answer out of BE in response to this question:

If it is clear that the mistake was made by atelier/BE, will you take the bag back and replace it at your cost?

It's simple, really.

I am just going to add that the sentence I bolded above is very, very wrong in a couture order, and I think it sums up the entire problem. Customers are worried that their bag won't be what they ordered, that they are going to have to fight to get things fixed and that is NOT a luxury experience, IMO. If I ordered BEC I would expect the best, nothing less.

I'm still here but have let my wallet do my talking and not bought anything BE at all anymore, but I still love to look at all the successful eye candy that rolls out.
