I agree with this- I bought a MIU graph cles around the holidays 2019 and besides the check boxes being slightly off register, it is fine. I bought it in-store and knowing how hard it is to get a good cles, I just took it home after inspection. This is an item I would prefer to buy in-store because of the quality issues. It is an entry item- I know this should not matter- so I am sure they make many of them without a lot of oversight. It is up to the individual craftsperson to have pride in their work- and it goes for France as well as the US.It has nothing to do with where it is made, but who makes it. I received a damier graphite MIF that I could see light through a couple weeks ago. This week I received a monogram MIF that I cannot see light through, but the zipper sticks and the corners look a little wonky.

I had recently bought both the mono and DE key pouches. The DE was made in USA and I had to return it because it had a strong chemical smell. The new one I received also had a smell. The stitching looks fine, but you can definitely see through the bottom on the DE...not the Mono MIF.i think it has more to do with quality control than an individual person. obviously there should be inspections in place but it looks like most of the pieces made by the craftsperson in USA are overlooked. it could be that there are different definitions of "defects" in France vs USA, something like light peeking through may be important in France but less important in USA (different perspectives).
statistically, we've seen way more MIU pieces that are terrible. not to say that MIF is perfect either. but there's just been a history of MIU complaints in TPF.
That’s a darn shame that it actually passed QC.Here’s mine, I returned it.
terrible terrible quality, MIU with the date code half hidden due to poor stitching.
I would name this “perforated key pouch” lol
