Current monogram key pouches that are made in USA appear to all have poor stitching.

Looks good to me.

I ended up ordering and keeping three key pouches - DA, monogram, and graphite. All three were MIU, had patterns lined up, and filtered minimal light.
I’ve heard a lot of reviews about the MIU pieces being made not so well so I was surprised with mine being fine. Maybe their craftsmanship is improving? I’d prefer a softer canvas like my MPA DE but I guess a firmer one would be a good thing if used a lot. I’m glad to hear you are happy with your 3 and thanks for sharing :)

I bought and returned a DE pouch in 2013-14 when they were using the softer canvas and slightly larger footprint, and just reordered one because the prices are getting silly for a keychain. Mine us MIU, still has a date code (I’m not sure if they are chipping something this small), and the canvas is firmer again. I enjoy that. It more similarly mirrors my original DA, from 2007, which is still going strong. I prefer the harder canvas for overall wear. The light issue seems nonexistent too.

Hello guys (and girls). I am now to the forum and this is only my third post. I chose the handle "FrenchNewbie" because, while I do have a nice and sizable collection of Louis Vuitton bags (my significant other gives me crap for it...lol), I do not own any Hermés/Chanel/Goyard bags (yet!!).

I came to this thread because it struck a chord with me. I have owned many MIF Clés over the years, and loved them all---they held up really well, etc.
However I recently bought a few DA and DE Clés that were made in USA and the quality difference smacked me in the face. Like others have mentioned: the zippers are off, the stitching is bad...and, I don't know if it is it my imagination but, the MIU shapes look more like slouched sacks---rather than the rectangular shape of the ones made in France. I am glad I am not the only one who notices the lack of QA for USA-made items. It sounds stereotypical, but this is why the Asians and Europeans look as us as inferior when it comes to cars/watches/luxury apparel, because apparently the American culture does not take [as much] pride in its work/craftsmanship.

I have told my SA (who is unfortunately on the west close closer to the SD factory) that I do not want anything made in USA. And apparently LV knows about the negative connotation, because you notice they no longer stamp 'Made in USA' like they generously do for other countries...hmmmmmm.

I recently received my key pouch in DE, shipped from the Ontario warehouse, and sadly it had loose stitching , a dent in the canvas and it was lopsided. I returned it in store and the CA told me that loose stitching is the “norm” nowadays . I was like ok but it has a dent too and it doesn’t lay flat. I ordered another one, hopefully it’s way better. I’m nervous since it is coming from the same warehouse .

Good luck to you!

I purchased three this year and all were made in US. Some light peaked but patterns lined up and it had its rounded corners. I make sure not to treat jam it with too much so I only use it as a cardholder for my slimmest bags. At first, I had buyer regret but now I’m glad I have them…I just don’t use the DA often.

I honestly hadn’t noticed until so many people pointed it out here, but some of my clés show a bit of light through the stitching at the bottom. I have had all of my key pouches for several years, some of them for around a decade, and they are all holding up tremendously well. I honestly don’t think it’s a sign of poor craftsmanship.

I also tried to own lv key cles but the 2 I received were MIUS and "perforated" like someone mentioned. Looks like fake LV :) I gave up and just got the Gucci one. With Gucci i did not have to worry where its made and the craftmanship is always perfect.

Because I was so upset, i disposed (sold) my other MIUS lv bags. Now I only have MIF or Spain and I feel a lot better to have a clean collection.
