It is LVs policy to charge a credit card for a pre-order. However, this is NOT an assurance that you will receive an item. There are many people who pre-ordered items from previous launches and never received the items. I know people who pre-ordered (paid in full) items from the Giant collection and NIGO who never received their items. IMO, this is a horrible business practice and LV needs to find a better way to provide assurance considering LV receives full payment. They capitalize on the full payment while clients have to pay interest on items they have yet to receive or have to wait months only to receive a cancellation. When you pre-order an item, the order is placed in the system in a “pooling” status. Please manage your expectations accordingly.
If this collection launches online, then purchase online and if it meets your standards of quality, then cancel your pre-order. Best of luck to those wanting items from this collection.

Yes- I will not be happy if my pre-order for the 2021 Cruise collection heart bag is cancelled. But I try to keep perspective- this is just "stuff"- I am not going to jump off a cliff if it is not fulfilled or delayed. There will always be new items to tempt. And yes- it does tie up money on my cc which is not desirable.

To date, I have had very good luck pre-ordering just a very few items- the petit Sac Plat and 3 xmas mini pochettes via an online SA. Everything was fulfilled on time and shipped overnight as a courtesy. Absolutely no complaints. But I have heard about disappointments esp. with the Jungle collection- that was a major disaster.

Expectation management is a great suggestion when it comes to LV but also other luxury brands- Hermes is notorious for keeping people waiting for years in some cases for bag orders (B's and K's).

Great advice! I am going to try my luck with the website. I was able to get the giant speedy from the website. I wasn't even expecting it to be available, and I honestly bought it on a whim. I also got several escale pieces from the website pretty easily. It seems like the folks who pre-order are sometimes forgotten somehow. But if I can do both, I will, because I know everyone wants the heart bag! :hbeat:
