Parents in China who protested against the tainted baby formula were put in jail.

Just think about who are actually running all these and pocketing the money.

BTW. The government official who stepped down temporarily after the tainted baby formula scandal was given a job at the Chinese health department (think FDA) and bam, they just have this vaccine scandal. It's how that country works.

I don't even buy dog toys when it says it's made in China.

But do you have an iphone? Or any cellphone for that matter? Thats all made in China.

I think it's easy to quickly condemn an entire country, and I get that China is being utilized as a prime example of the corruption and greed within the industry, but I think to state that you won't "even buy dog toys [...] made in China.", while on one hand is your opinion and desire and I do not want to discredit that, on the other the way you say it can be taken offensively.

Not everything made in China is bad. Not everything made in the USA is good. Everything's colored in shades of grey; there is no black and white.

I don't buy dog toys made in China because my dog would put it in his mouth. I do not buy dog toys made in China because they "recycle" biomedical waste such as used masks, cottons and used tampons to make the stuffing.

Let me clarify: I do not buy edible items and items that would go into my mouth/body and those of my loved ones.

But is there direct evidence that ALL companies do this in China? That is what I am curious about. Is this "evidence" from one video, or have there been multiple investigations in this market? Are there legitimate investigations which have been done where I can read all of their data?

You are making a lot of broad statements that, to me, seem to be more blasting Chinese people than the industry itself. Notice how you even said "they 'recycle
biomedical waste". Not every Chinese person is reusing tampons for dog toys. You speak as if the Chinese people are just one large entity in the East that specifically creates harmful things for westerners.

I just don't understand your statements. I get that there are regulations that China, and other countries, have tried to evade in terms of policing their factories and points of industrialization, but you seem to really dislike Chinese people. No one in China is sitting there cackling on how they've tricked you in to buying a dog toy made with used tampons.

I don't even want to argue this. I just wanted to say this so that you are aware that some of your statements just seem racist. You don't have to care. I'm just putting it out there.

Yeah, don't think they care about dogs there! The Yulin Festival where they TORTURE and EAT dogs![emoji24][emoji27][emoji27][emoji27]

The Chinese working class are paying a lot for this globalisation in a bad bad way. They get the short end of the straw with work trafficking to make our beloved items that we buy here. And the hours they have to work, plus they get the biggest % of that fake medicine and fake food. This video makes me at least phase out the made in China as much as possible. It's impossible to stay clear of it 100% with all the big machines like Longchamp, Burberry, Apple, H&M, Zara and wherever outsource to make almost double profit. This video opens for us to make our own decisions on what we will support or steer clear off as much as possible. I for myself got an eye opener after seeing this video. I don't like how Longchamp and Burberry etc etc are doing things. If all of us said no to a made in China bag from a French company, maybe they would be forced to open up a factory again in France? The problem isn't the Chinese people, it's the big men on top, in China, and the rest of the world. You can see how the top leaders couldn't say anything in the video bc they are now depending on China to make money themselves. i just wish they hadn't outsourced to begin with... Man oh man..

I think this is pretty harsh. The user didn't say anything about race. She even said that Chinese people are being jailed for protesting the fake baby food.
I think putting race into this (which you did, no one else) is a bad look. What she/he is saying is that she/he doesn't support the made in China bc of how the government runs things. That's her right to feel. I understand that statement bc that's how I feel too. It's more than obvious that the Chinese government outsmarted the Europeans with them outsourcing to China. They got the blue prints, the factories, the opportunity to take control over something that started out as some rich businessmen wanting more more more more more money in their pocket by shutting down their factories in Europe with European labour laws, to make it cheaper to make in China. That's the business model isn't it. And they shot themselves in the foot, but we the small little people have to pay for that big time.
It's up to any of us what to support, buy etc, isn't it?

When I used "they", I was referring to "those who recycle biomedical waste to make dog toys". I didn't use "they" to refer to ALL Chinese people. I didn't make any racist statements saying ALL Chinese people are doing all these.

I never said EVERYTHING made in China is bad and I never said EVERYTHING made in the states is good. And I never said ALL companies in China produce bad products. And I never said ALL Chinese people are "creating harmful products FOR westerners". If so, then their own infants shouldn't be the major victims of their tainted baby formula. Like Nickita said, no one else put race into this.

Consumers have the right to be wary of certain products or companies or manufacturers when enough of them are bad. They don't have to prove that every single manufacturer from that country is producing fake or tainted products before making the decision to avoid those products.

If a kid has been scratched up by multiple cats before and now he says he's afraid of cats, does he have to prove that ALL cats attack humans before he can express his fear? I think he has every right to be vigilant.

The only real way to avoid this is to purchase from independent artisans.

I don't really believe my LV is made in France because a tag says so. Labeling laws in the EU are not the strictest.

None of this has anything to do with race. I am so sick of hearing the racial card pulled! I'm many situations!

It's nice that people are becoming aware of what is truly in our foods. You have to be careful in the US with gmo's and even when something says "organic" it's not necessarily organic unless it's USDA certified. And if you want to get farther into it do some research and learn which bar codes are which....

In China there are many products that are unsafe. I feel if you are going to eat, drink, or chew on something... Apply to your skin... Or even have injected. You should learn what is in it. Many products on the US are also unsafe. Unfortunately China's regulations are horrible. Worse than the US (and that's pretty darn bad!)

Well then I guess I have a bad look then for feeling a certain way toward others statements.

This isn't the only thing said on this thread which I took to be a little racist. Take a few posts above yours where a user states with emojis that Chinese people torture and kill dogs and they don't care about them. (This is a whole gray area as well. Who are we to tell people who live in a province where poverty is so high that food is not food?)

It's not like Chinese people hate dogs. Many Chinese people have dogs as pets and love them just as much as other dog owners, but the previous user can make a joke about the Yulin dog festival saying how the Chinese don't care about dogs and somehow that's not a statement of race?

No that's not a statement of race. That's a statement from a persons view on how animals are being treated. She would have made the same faces if they had Yulin in Sweden. It's not about race. It's about treatment of animals. That's what her faces were about. It was her expressions on how she feels about that. Whenever did she mention race?? Why are you turning this into being about race...? Please. I think you're taking it to a whole other level. But, you are entitled to your opinions too and your feelings. But I personally don't think any of this is about race.. What race? The Chinese race? Is that a race? Who is talking about race? We are talking about fakes, laws, governments, treatment of people, and counterfeits.
