They did the dumbest thing when I consigned NWT Chanel combat boots. They took the tags off.

The only good thing was that I got them on sale and they managed to sell them for more than I had paid. Plus my friend who had consigned a classic flap and some jewelry had a higher rate and she sold them for me.

I have tried Thred Up, Poshmark, The Net a Porter resale service (Reflaunt) and I can’t say I’m happy with any of it.

I live in NYC but I ship my stuff to a consignment store in a smaller city.

That being said I still look at TRR for deals.

Thank you for posting. I gave up consigning with TRR years ago! They scratched and damaged my brand new $1,400 CL Pumps and YSL pumps when I asked them to ship them back to me. Their Consignor Relations Specialist was way too pushy and rude!! I'm done with them. It sounds like they are reducing their commissions again.

They are terrible! I'm so glad you were able to sell them for more than what you had paid. Yes, I agree PM, Thred UP and Fashionphile are not good anymore. I didn't even know Net a Porter had a resale service. I need to find a good consignment store out here in Newport Beach, CA. I'm sure NYC has some great consignment stores. I have so many shoes and bags that I want to sell. I just have too much stuff and want to get rid of them. They are all brand new with tags. TRR does have some great deals. I don't look because I don't want to get tempted to buy anything.

I had a nice local consignment store here. Mostly for buying but I sold a few bags there. The shopping center was torn down and they didn't find another suitable location. I miss that store.

My former favorite consignment stores in NYC closed down.

It’s really hard to offload stuff here that is contemporary or the lower end of luxury brands if it isn’t super trendy (will sell with Gen Z) or really good vintage (I have some but I still wear it.)

Basically I don’t like any of the online resale sites. I could do Poshmark or Vestiaire but I just want it out of my closet.

Reflaunt shipped my stuff to Singapore but because it was the other side of the world and a totally different season I only sold one dress before I asked for it back. And I felt horribly guilty about the shipping.

Have you tried Luxe Du Jour or 2nd Street?

Oh no! I hope they build another consignment store near you.
the one I liked has a sister store but it's farther away and it's very disorganized. that location had been a nice store but they must have had a landlord issue too. they moved across the street to a smaller space and it's a mess. so for now I've done more shopping online

I had purchased an item from them and decided to sell it back. They listed it for $45 and it sold. The check I received was for $2! I should have just gifted it away for free. I didn't realize they charged $10 to issue a check. Really? There is no way in you-know-what that I'd ever give this company my SS# though, who knows what they'd do with it. They are NOT the place to consign if you have low value items and wish to be paid my check. Such a joke tbh.

I had a similar experience. $9.80 check a few months ago. Annoying for sure

I've had that happen a direct deposit for $7.00. You are very right I am thinking about listing my lower priced items on Poshmark or something because it is not worth it. They take a bigger commission on these items and to me they seem to mark them down faster than normal.
