Considering First LV Purchase - Suggestions/Recommendations?

I didn't realize they put bottom studs on her. That's a terrific upgrade. I think I'm going to order her too. MM though for me. Has anyone noticed any difference in the metal on the new and older Almas? I notice the hardware says golden-color metal pieces now, and not golden-color brass pieces.

I think if it didn't have the bottom studs/feet I would have not gone with the monogram.

I like the MM size too!

I thought the bag looked so nice on you. Thanks for that, you totally enabled me. Lol! I never buy anything because I'm always debating and researching, so for me to just go order it is pretty unusual. But I've always loved Alma. I remember debating between her and Speedy for my first LV bag a hundred years ago. I bought the Speedy instead. So Alma has always been the one that got away.

We'll see how it goes. It was available when I put it in my cart, but the page said "call" after that. It let me order it, but I have no idea if it will go through.

Lol! Thanks! You too! I thought it looked so great with your black shirt and jeans, which is pretty much my daily uniform. It looks classic, easy-going and confident. Just a great bag. I think it was the bottom feet that pushed me over the edge. I'm getting very particular about what I expect on a bag over $ 1500. I know in the world of crazy bag spending that isn't a lot, but to any sensible person, a thousand dollars is real money for a purse. I don't care if it is made by virgins out of organic angel wing feathers--a few of my must haves are a lock, bottom feet, inside pockets, and a weight that won't break my arm.

Thanks! Last night I was wondering if I made the right decision as I do really like the Epi!

I am sitting here so impatiently waiting for UPS. LV apparently doesn't let you change to pick up at UPS Service Center - which seems crazy. So...delaying any plans for the day just waiting. Due by 10:30am...of course they are late not early!

I always do that too...lol . After I buy a bag , bring it , I re think to myself , " Should I have gone with the other LV bag I tried on instead ". Its natural to think this . I think you made the right choice ! I Love the mono Alma !

Mono. I love how lightweight and durable the LV canvas is. To me, that's a major, enduring reason to buy LV. I have had an H Birkin and a Bolide, and a Garden Party, in hand-carry bags, and they were so beautiful, but they were so heavy that I found I just avoided using them. Now maybe if I had a driver... Hmm...I'll have to save my pennies!

I still don't feel 100% sure I made the right choice between the two Almas.

Question the lock looks a bit scratched and kind of tarnished. Typical? I'm picky anyway but if I'm spending this much I want it perfect to start!

Big Congrats! So gorgeous! I love love the look of fresh light color vachetta. I don't have bags with locks so can't comment on that but I never had a tarnished/scratched zipper or hardware on any of my LV stuff. So maybe you can take it into the store to exchange the lock? Do you know why you feel a little unsure? Are you unsure about the look (mono vs epi) or the rainspots on vachetta issue? Maybe you can carry it around the house and take pictures of it with different outfits to assess.

The black Epi would be lower maintenance and in MN we get enough rain/snow I could be stressed or not get to carry the monogram as much.

You should be absolutely happy with your first LV. Take your time (well a few days, lol) to think it over and decide. It's kinda good test to see how you react/feel about that small spot on the handle (be honest with yourself, does it/will it bother you?). Both bags are lovely on you.

Thanks, I know. I am hoping to get to the store with my friend and hope they still have the Epi and get her opinion. I know...that was my first thought on the spot and vachetta! I may obsess over imperfections. Yes, time, they only allow 14 days for returns and 30 for exchange!

Congrats ! Its gorgeous !! Hmm... the lock should not be tarnished . All of my bags that came with locks did not have tarnish when I got them . I would not be pleased about this . If you are having doubts . take it back to the store and compare the two again . The mono is so stunning . But if you feel more safe about Epi, maybe that is the way to go . I have an Noir Epi electric bb which I adore . I only carry her for special occasions . My DE PM I use for everyday . The PM size is so much better for daily use . Just make sure which ever you decide , it makes your heart sing !

I would suggest taking it back today if possible, since there is a problem with the lock, and the bag has a spot. If it must be exchanged, personally, I would have called customer service immediately to log the issue, and would not wait on this, or carry it around the house for a week. Also, since you are still not sure what you want, it might be a good idea to go by yourself, so that you can think clearly and not be influenced by anyone else's opinion. This is your bag, and you have to pay for it and carry it. You know what speaks to you, and what everyone else thinks you should choose really is irrelevant. (Lol! Including my comments! )
