The new line is a big improvement over the recent dept store lines! I've looked at the Munich website and drooled over the bags there. No idea about their prices there ( were in German ), and it didn't look as if they shipped to the US.

I went to their new store in nyc some time ago and it looks like the bags are back to being well made again. Not that cheap stuff we saw for a while. If I had not already spent to much that day, I would have bought one. They were that nice.

I am bumping this old thread because Etienne Aigner (U.S.) is having a sale of 50% off everything on their website for 4th of July (code JUL50)! Has anyone seen, or better yet owned, any leather goods made after their revamp? I would love some reviews, and all I can find is a couple photos of bloggers carrying the dome satchel but no comments whatsoever. I am very interested in the Moda Hobo Bag or the Preface Dome Satchel, both in Cordovan, which looks so pretty.

I like that Moda handbag too! No idea about the quality these days...

I was at the boutique in NYC two weeks ago and the bags looked nice, since they have been bought by yet another company. No longer the junk quality of recent years.

Agreed! I was in high school in the '70's, and Aigner was the premier bag to carry. I actually I collect bags from this era and they are still divine. So sad to watch their decline.

I checked out the German website about 3 years ago and loved the bags. Right now they have overhauled the line to compete with Coach and Cole Hahn. Only time will tell if their plan works. I have yet to see the new bags in person. The only boutique I know of is in NYC. I hate to spend money on a bag not knowing it's quality.

How would you rate the quality or what brand would you compare it to? Did you handle any of the bags (wondering about the weight and feel of the leather)? Thanks!

I was looking for a reasonably light tote which they had . The other bags were thicker and a bit heavier. The leather looked quite nice. I really only concentrated on the totes this time with the exception of a satchel that drew me. Is there a way you can see one for your self? They are well made again not like that cheap stuff that you could get at the department store a while ago.

I bit the bullet and bought a bag from Aigner Germany this sale season. The bag is wonderful and well-made. Very good quality indeed!!! I will see how the bag holds up after a couple of months. Will take some pictures later :-)
