This looks like a very old, vintage piece, which was hand made. Mr. Aigner started out making his bags by hand. Where did you get it?
It is real. Etienne Aigner signed the inside of his original bags like this one. The signature is unmistakable. You may have trouble selling it unless you can polish the leather and the brass. Who knows! Good luck. You have a genuine collectors item there!I do not know if it is real though. I started researching about it after i bought it, never heard of it before tbh. I got it in east germany just a few days ago from a shop that buys and resells stuff mostly from dead peoples´relatives. 5€! I hope to resell it, since I can not care for it accordingly..... help!

I’m sure because I have known and bought Etienne Aigner most of my adult life. Back when that bag was made, people didn’t possess the skill to make a fake one that was hand made like that one.OMG,I thought it was a fake, a good one at that. I don´t mean to be unfriendly, but how can you be sure, and where would I be able to sell it? AND: i already tried polishing the leather and tbh it did more damage than good...... The insides are full of blue pencil markings, and the leather handles` stitching is disintegrating. There must be people that restore it, maybe i can to some extent? Thanks for your informations btw![]()
"...Back when it was made.." how would you date it? And where would i be able to sell it into the right hands?I’m sure because I have known and bought Etienne Aigner most of my adult life. Probably made in the 60’s maybe. As to where to sell it, I have no idea. Maybe search the internet and see if there is a person who collects the older, handmade Etienne Aigner bags. The bags made and sold in the U.S. always said Etienne Aigner on the inside of the bag, usually stamped on a leather label. The bags sold in Germany only say Aigner on the inside, and are usually on a small, brass plate."...Back when it was made.." how would you date it? You can find the bags from Germany sold on the Luxury Closet website.Probably made in the 60’s maybe. As to where to sell it, I have no idea. That’s a great collection. My aunt had lots if Aigner bags, belts, watches when she was in college and I would play dress up with them. The 3rd from the bottom is an old John Romaine. Aigner and JR were neck and neck as bags to have when I grew up. I wanted that bag but my Mom said no, my stuff would fall out. When I grew up I bought her!
