The problem with Ban Island, of course, would be that it wouldn't work unless the internet were disabled. But then we wouldn't be able to communicate with each other to help everyone stay banned. A paradox, indeed!

True story. My e-mail box is so bad for my habit :) Every time I see there's a sale or event or whatever I'm all Ooo gotta check it out and then bam, I'm justifying another purchase.
I actually feel really ready for Ban island though... I think like any addict you have to be ready to give it up.
Here's to hoping that feeling lasts...

Clearly I've spent waaaay too much time watching intervention :)

Oh yay!!!!! A TPFer got it! I am so glad :smile1: and your HG too! :D

Well, I was very close to buying the Mogano, but I was messaging with the seller and I knew that I wasn't going to offer her what I felt (and she knew) it was worth, so I skipped it.
I saw your winning bid (you can see the Best Offer result by clicking on "print" on the listing) and am pleasantly surprised :D that she accepted it! That bag has dreamy leather. If it came with the mirror and tags I would have gone for it, I am very particular about having the tags. But if that isn't a big deal then you cannot beat the condition or price on that one. I hope you do a reveal when it arrives!

The Sapphire, well...yes, I have a Raisin City so I didn't want to be redundant. Also, Sapphire was the first B Bag purple that I fell in love with in pics. I had read so many posts about it fading that I was put off, but now, I have a few purple Bals so I should be able to rotate it enough so that it won't rapidly fade. I wasn't really looking for it when it popped up, it caught my eye because it was a Day style, really, and then after looking at the pics 10,000,000 times I decided to grab it.

I am so pleased that you are going to give the Mogano the use that it deserves!

ETA I think the Sapphire is the new leather not the Chevre, it does have that squishy look to it though!
Yes, the Mogano will have a great home with me (as you can see from my avatar, the color is even a match for my cat--I adore warm, reddish browns!). And yes, I'm also pleased by the price, as well as the condition. Although I do like to have tags and mirror, I intend to be the "last" (ultimate, in all senses of the word) owner of this bag, so the condition is more important to me than the tags.

I'm glad to know that there's a way to learn the BO price on the bay--thanks for passing on that info!

And yes, I should have remembered that '08 is the first full on agneau year for Bal. So I guess that the 2007 Violet on your list is your representative chèvre. Do you have any interest in the lilac or magenta chevres (I have read here on TPF that the lilac tends toward yellowing, but it does look lovely in some of the old reveal threads).

Your cat has the markings of a Cheetah, so cool. What type of cat is s/he?

You're welcome! I found that info in the Ebay forum on here.

Exactly, my Violet is Chèvre. I'm not ruling out more in that leather though!
Lilac is very pretty but maybe a bit too light for me. I had never noticed Magenta before so I had to Google it, it's more on the pink side, right?
I lean more toward Grenat http://forum.purseblog.com/balenciaga/grenat-lovers-388587.html for a darker red/pink/burgundy and Grenadine for a lighter & brighter onehttp://forum.purseblog.com/balenciaga-clubhouse/share-your-balenciaga-grenadine-beauties-729744.html.
It really depends on the individual bag though, the texture of the leather can make the colors appear differently.

My Dh asked me how many B Bags I would end up with if our budget were unlimited  I estimated around 30. He thought that sounded on the low end. There are just so many beautiful colors.

That Eggplant Purse that popped up was something I might look for in the future. It's so hard because these bags pop up and then you might not see the same color/style/condition anywhere again for months. I feel compelled to buy them NOW.

My cat is a Bengal--a hybrid of (wild) Asian Leopard Cat and domestic tabby. Even more than the spots, I love his red-brown coppery coat, which changes color depending on the light and orientation (like a BBag).

I agree about the temptation to buy the oldies when they appear: it's hard to guess when a particular color or style combo will surface again. Plus, I'm afraid that the prices of used bags will go up, especially on the consignment sites, now that Bal has increased the prices for new bags so dramatically.

That Eggplant Purse on RDC was gorgeous. I also love Grenat, and Bordeaux--the saturation of reddish purple is wonderful--like the fine wine some of you are sipping here in the waiting lounge.

As for me, I am drinking a rich, coppery brown ale, spiced with cinnamon, in honor of the Mogono I await. Cheers!

Update: Forget the glass, bring the whole bottle. Seller has had a change of heart and has decided to keep her 2011 black Mini Pompon. She was very sweet and apologetic, issued an immediate refund, and left me no choice but to be a good sport about it. Evidently it wasn't meant to be.

Inevitably getting older, perhaps wiser, but striving for civility. (As opposed to fashioning a wax doll and heating up several long needles!)

Aww, so sorry to hear that! You're right, maybe it just was not meant to be. At least the seller was sweet and apologetic about it, plus issued a refund right away. Now, you can either join us on B ban island, or the hunt will continue for you. :D

He's beautiful. What is his temperament like?

Exactly ^ What we pad for those Day bags is roughly 1/2 of what they go for new & that might change soon. Are they even still making the Day style? I thought I read that it was being changed.

I'm sorry to hear this! I saw your post on Ban Island too. Was it an auction listing?
I am applauding your restraint. ;)

I will take a glass of rose, too while we are waiting! :happydance:

I anxiously waited one week for my new Anthracite RH City to be shipped to my closest NM (1 hour drive) and she was delivered yesterday. I stared at the clock until 3pm when I could leave to pick her up. Drove all the way there and the SA brought her out from back--she was gorgeous! But, also broken. The hardware on one of the handles was missing. Moment of panic because the SA showed this was the only one left in stock. Thankfully she found one at NM in California and they overnighted her to me. She is on the truck for delivery and I refuse to leave until she is in my hands!!
