Thanks, SQ, I think I just stood there with my mouth open! And I'm loving these pearls.

Did he call you that to your face? What is the context??

The pearls are rough? Explain.
Very pretty![/QUOTE
Yes, he said it to my face! I asked if he needed to see my id as i had to sign for my pkg, and he said "no, if i cant trust a sweet little old lady like you, who can i trust" I suppose he meant it in a nice way, but still! Anyway, natural pearls are rough if you look at them very closely. Supposedly they should feel rough againt your teeth (Who knows, an old tale?)

Yes!! Thats just what i should have done!

Why, that no-good umpity-ump! What a lot of nerve! And it's not even accurate... well, "sweet" is right, but you are nowhere near looking like an old lady, dear!

I remember the first time a sales clerk called me "ma'am"... I went home and cried! Then I marched out of the house and bought myself a new pair of red shoes.

As for the pearls, I don't know anything about pearls, but yours look beautiful. The only real (as opposed to Majorica) pearls I own are a short double strand that my parents bought me for my 16th birthday. I keep them for sentimental reasons; the last time I wore them was when The Hubster & I got married, nearly 37 years ago. I just checked them and you're right... they're slightly rough!

Wear them in good health, and the next time you see that clerk, see if you can manage to step on his toe with a pair of your heaviest boots.:[/QUOTE

Thanks so much Elaine, and I had my combat boots on too! Well, instead of crying I had to tell all you lovely ladies.

Well that's great! Go cougar!! Thanks for the encouragement!

Thanks, Izzy. It's actually one strand doubled, and I can wear it several ways. I need to read that article!
Yeah, I'm sure it didn't come out like he meant it. He probably freaked out after you walked away and he realized what he said.

Yes, real pearls feel like sandpaper when you rub them on your teeth. Not that I have rubbed sandpaper on my teeth, but you know what I mean. LOL!

Before I forget. Since you girls have expensive bags, I'm starting to get nervous. I don't know how this product will work on different leathers. It says all leathers, on the packaging, but my MG bag is veg leather...kind of untreated, like a saddle or LV vachetta. It does condition and water-proof, so try it on the bottom of the bag, first, just to make sure it doesn't change the color. It worked great on my MG bag!
Mine arrived today. Not to worry I will test it on a less expensive item and always in an inconspicuous spot.
what a great look, Meg -- love your Pallas!

Thank you so much Flowers.

Yesterday I wore my LV bag for the first time. The weather here was very warm so a Nic and Zoe skirt, St. Johns tank top, Balenciaga SQ jacket, and Rene Caovilla sandals. I took my MIL to a doctor's appointment and then to pick up her jewelry that was being resized. The bag was really comfortable to wear and held so much more than I thought it would.
You look just gorgeous, meg. So totally "put together." The Pallas bag really suits you. Wear it in good health!

Went out with a friend last weekend. I stopped by one of my favorite kitchen stores in Pike Place Market to pick up a couple of fiestaware bowls, but had a hard time deciding on color. Imagine 4 more walls like this and many more colors:

sorry for the crappy photo.
Are you a fiestaware gal too!! I love all things from the Craftsman era and fiestaware is an extension of that time. I so wished i had weekends off to meet up with you for some shopping :p

Really like your whole look, but like nascar I love those sandals! So nice that they're comfy too.

Did anyone see the article Megs wrote about the Celine Trio yesterday? (If not, here's the link: http://www.purseblog.com/celine/fits-celine-trio-bag/4). It turns out that an amazing amount can fit into this little cutie!

Well, that got me thinking about a vintage Ferragamo bag I picked up last year for a song, and totally forgot about. I think it's from the 1950s, though I can't be sure. It's designed along the lines of the Trio, though the three "pouches" can't be detached. But the idea is the same. It weighs next to nothing, I can wear it crossbody, and I've been having a problem with my shoulder, so I decided to see if my little Ferragamo could be used as a daytime bag.

Sure enough... as long as I don't carry a wallet, I can carry everything I need. The bag holds, without bulging:
1. iPhone 5s (not in the photo, because I'm using it to take the picture!)
2. Kate Spade credit card case
3. A couple of $20 bills (I rarely use cash... do you?)
4. Car key on a chain with a mini-flashlight
5. House keys on a Tiffany key ring
6. Folding fan (that's the gold-toned thing... it opens up into a full-sized fan!)
7. Tissue
8. Eyeglass cleaning cloth
9. Pill box
10. Ginger hard candies
11. Mini-pen
12. Leather jotter (sometimes you just need to have pen & paper handy!)
13. Dior lipstick, which comes in its own mirrored case (so I don't have to carry a mirror)

Thanks Elaine. I really like the bag and am going to wear her for awhile and start breaking her in.

Thank you, MK. I have another pair of sandals from the same designer and they are also super comfy.

I love the bag. It sure holds more than you would expect.
I rarely use cash either. I carry some but prefer to pay with my Saks MC so that I get points. I am waiting for my gift card that should arrive any day now and I will use it when I go for my birthday shopping trip along with the almost 800.00 Nordstrom note I just got.

I love this Elaine!!! ...it sure looks like Celine Trio :) I had a black and bordeaux Trio ...they really fine for a small bag.

A single note for nearly $800? Wow! The most I've ever gotten in one note is $400, and that was after a major shopping trip with triple points! I'm guessing you bought shoes & bags, and you made it a triple-point day?:graucho:

That's a gorgeous Trio, cilifene! And you're right... it does hold a lot. Is your third picture the same bag in black? Did you have two of them?

Here they are side by side - omg I have a million pics of bag I have had.. lol...
