It was super painful to try and open the kiss lock. One of the bags I couldn't even get it open. DH was a fan of that one. I couldn't get to my wallet

I think the Velo in the metallic edge is really pretty, but it also makes the bag about 1 lb heavier. I like regular Velo with the GH. Still is lightweight and it hangs beautifully.

Too funny, meg!

I know what you mean about the kiss lock, though. I only own one MJ bag with a kiss lock: it's the Little Stam Crossbody. I like the size and weight of it, and the fact that it's a crossbody, but the kiss lock is a little challenging to open. I keep worrying that one of these days I'm going to break it, and then what will I do? Fortunately, I bought it on Bonz for a bit under 1/2 price (from a tPFer) so if it eventually comes apart, or if I eventually decide to sell it, it won't break my heart. :graucho:

WOW, everyone's bags and outfits are looking great! I love to see how young and stylish you all look.

In other news, I went to the post office to pick up these pearls I ordered, and the clerk (not a young guy, either) called me a "sweet old lady"!! I am horrified.!!

Anyway, I've become interested in pearls. These are suppose to be Japanese Akoya in a slight blue grey color. They are rough and I know real pearls are supposed to be. Anyway, what do you think? Not the best photo, sorry.

WTH???
A "sweet old lady", indeed.
Evidently you weren't carrying your gorgeous Chanel/Hermes bag.
Bast@rd!
I love the pearls, MK. I don't know much about pearls but these look lovely and I bet will be versatile. Good for you!

Did he call you that to your face? What is the context??

The pearls are rough? Explain.
Very pretty!

You should have smacked that clerk with your handbag, like a little old lady is supposed to, LOL! And your pearls are beautiful! I love pearls. Wish I had more..

Went out with a friend last weekend. I stopped by one of my favorite kitchen stores in Pike Place Market to pick up a couple of fiestaware bowls, but had a hard time deciding on color. Imagine 4 more walls like this and many more colors:

Why, that no-good umpity-ump! What a lot of nerve! And it's not even accurate... well, "sweet" is right, but you are nowhere near looking like an old lady, dear!

I remember the first time a sales clerk called me "ma'am"... I went home and cried! Then I marched out of the house and bought myself a new pair of red shoes.;)

As for the pearls, I don't know anything about pearls, but yours look beautiful. The only real (as opposed to Majorica) pearls I own are a short double strand that my parents bought me for my 16th birthday. I keep them for sentimental reasons; the last time I wore them was when The Hubster & I got married, nearly 37 years ago. I just checked them and you're right... they're slightly rough!

Wear them in good health, and the next time you see that clerk, see if you can manage to step on his toe with a pair of your heaviest boots.

I used to love going to the Pike Place Market when I traveled to Seattle on business, florasun! That's a terrific photograph, and I want one of everything... in every color. Fiestaware is just so festive and cheery, especially on grey winter days!

It looks as though we're finally going to get some rain here in California (the Northern part, at least.) The AT&T Pebble Beach golf tournament starts tomorrow... and it ALWAYS rains for that! The poor tourists... they travel out here all excited to see sunny California, and then chances are very good that it rains all over them! (Meanwhile, us locals stock up on groceries and hide in our houses until it's all over... the traffic is beyond awful!):D
