I am a Coach leather girl. I would have to agree with a lot of other posters here that I think D&B seems so youngish... and I detest the brightly colored logos... just like I don't like LV initial bags of anykind and I hate the Coach signature too.

that said, my first designer bag was a dooney all weather leather drawstring duffle... in 1987, I think. I still have it and it has held up well, but I haven't carried it years.

I agree with what others have said- Dooney and Bourke used to have some lovely, classic, classy, timeless bags. Now I feel like they're trying to copy the Louis Vuitton multicolor/logo bags, and it might look cute on teens but not for me. There was this one soft blue canvas shoulder tote I saw once that I fell in love with, can't find it anywhere on Ebay. Should have bought it back then!

There are a few D&Bs that I like, but everytime I look at one I'm like "I'd rather have a Coach." But for Christmas I couldn't resist...I got this one for my niece...when I first saw it I immediately thought "that's what Tayllor is getting for Christmas".

The only Dooney I absolutely adore, and HAD to have, it last year's croc print, not this year's. It was the style that's top zip, kind of like a doctor's bag. I got it in the white croc print, and it's only gotten better with time. It's starting to oxidize a little, and the color looks wonderful. Other than that, I'm not really impressed, even though the new tiny bubble print is really cute in the pink, blue and the multi colors.. especially the tote design.

I'm like a few of you here, Dooney was my first "real" bag, probably 12 years ago. I have loved it ever since. However, I got onto coach last year and I have never looked back. :nuts: I think that Dooney is well made and more affordable than coach. I like their bags, it just depends on what ones and when. I do prefer coach. I definately think a LOT of teenage s carry them, especially the IT bags. But I would still rather see 1 million it bags then all the fake LV's in my town. :yucky:
