As a design professional that has nothing to do with personal style it's just very interesting from a marketing and strategy perspective! Everyone has different taste, and hey, that's great and ok. I just think it's exciting to Coach lovers to see their brand opening up to a higher end market. It's why they have been closing stores. They're instilling a new strategy and aiming for a different target market completely. This is exactly what they needed to do to stay alive as a brand. Why not be happy for people to be re-excited for the brand after many years? I have no clue why everyone is so sensitive... Lighten up and don't always assume the worst from people. This is a chat room about BAGS not religion. My posts were purely out of excitement and nothing sinister. Honestly.Agreed. I had been away from Coach for over a year until I saw the Fall collection. Hence my screen name. However, when I gravitated back toward Coach I didn't comment as if the brand was beneath me because I own other, more expensive bags.
And just because you aren't interested in a brand, doesn't mean it's "beneath" you. Personally I just haven't liked the aesthetics of any bag brand in the Coach price range in ages. Most of them were using huge logos (MK, and M by MJ as well). Most of the higher end bags have a lot cleaner design style. Personally I think that's why the Borough did so well.As a design professional that has nothing to do with personal style it's just very interesting from a marketing and strategy perspective! The Borough bag recently caught the attention of notable stylists, celebrities, and fashion bloggers/editorials. Probably the first and only Coach item to do this in decades. Do you not want that for a brand you love? I'm not sure how that's a bad thing???

+ 1I think you missed a lot of bags. Nearly all the Coach bags I bought over the last few years have had a clean style and no huge logos.
It's hard to make blanket statements about Coach since there is so much variety. Those of us that have been on this forum for awhile have seen nearly every bag that came out, before it came out, whether it was a department store exclusive or an Asian exclusive or a bag that was on the Coach web site. We pick and choose from a ton of Coach bags. They are not all winners. But there were a lot of good ones. You just have to invest the time in looking at everything to figure out what you want. Fortunately there are people on this forum that went out of their way to get us the pics early, so we had an amazing selection.

I see lots of logos on "premium" bags too. Here on the Coach forum we always hear about people who are surprised that Coach makes and has made leather bags without huge logos for most of their history. It doesn't make sense to condemn a brand when you haven't really seen all that they offer. That is stereotyping.

That reminds me of when I took my 15 year old to get his drivers permit on Saturday and the man saw my Sophia in crimson patent. He said something about how he never saw a Coach like mine before as he only has seen the ones with all the "Cs" all over. lol
My DH used to say this when I first started buying Coach again, when I first joined tpf. I've had many people compliment my bag and then be surprised to find out it is a Coach. That reminds me of when I took my 15 year old to get his drivers permit on Saturday and the man saw my Sophia in crimson patent. personally I love it, I feel like a lot of you commenting about how much you hate it don't really understand the concept of nyfw and the eccentricity that surrounds these shows. These bags will be a mere 10% of the entire collection, so before everyone starts throwing tantrums why don't you wait and see for yourself. And for those saying that they "copied" other brands, I do see the inspiration from celine hermes and valentino, but brands like kate spade, mk, and RM do this all the time, just like one of RM's newest bags is a complete knockoff of the chanel boy bag....
