Nice haul! I've dunked wallets but have decided that unless they are horribly dirty, they do better without. I dunked a similar Dooney wallet. It came out much cleaner but more wrinkled looking, so I'm not sure it was an improvement.
The Coach wallet and the Dooney passport/wallet thingy did really well with the dunk, the Dooney checkbook wallet holder def wrinkled a bit but it was filthy!!!!Ill For a total of 1.99 for the Dooney, I took the chance :)

What causes the wrinkling? I had that happen with another bag. At first I thought it was just dry but the wrinkly appearance remained after conditioning. [emoji20]

I'm not sure...I haven't had this problem with bags. This wallet was pretty old -the inside of the change purse was completely green and the license cover plastic is slightly cracked. Not really sure how to save it :/. the inside skin kind of "moulted" when I was gently cleaning with a baby toothbrush.

In the case of my wallet, it was stretched out.

The molting is common with Dooney wallets. There are some that are worse than others. I usually scrub the inside of the coin pocket with a damp washcloth but I'm more gentle with the rest of the inside.

A little Sunday funday dunking! Dawn dunk, 3 coats Leather CPR, Leather Therapy applied to super dry edges, and will let dry overnight to reevaluate for more CPR or Blackrocks. Thanks Goodwill for all the rehab projects you supply! TIA if anyone has an idea on how to address the back side mark that still remains !View attachment 3520591 View attachment 3520595 View attachment 3520597 View attachment 3520598 View attachment 3520599 View attachment 3520601 View attachment 3520605 View attachment 3520608 View attachment 3520609 View attachment 3520610
Looks great! You did an really good job.

THANKS! A local good will! I have never shopped online- just thrifting around my area....I also scored this black coach city bag, green coach wallet, a Dooney wallet/passport holder thingy , and an old school Dooney wallet! They all took dunks today!

I like all you finds, especially the City bag.

Has anyone rehabbed a Hamilton pebbled leather hobo ? I tried searching but came up with nothing... The bag I have is worn around the edges and is thirsty. Wondering if a dunk would be good or just some good conditioning? TIA!

Can you post a picture? I don't know which bag you are talking about. I've dunked a pebbled bag before.

Hello ladies, just a quick stop to share my success matching a color that till now to me was a challenge, so in case it helps you here it is.
The corner of this bag, the one that rubs the most as shoulder bag, had not only become discolored but looked almost orange (sorry no before picture). So mixing these two paints (I found it at my local Walmart as new product), matched the original metallic bronze (or is it antique gold? LOL) perfectly. Judge by yourselves

Nice job!

Have any of you seen this kind of stain/damage before? Any clue what it is? How did you treat it? I haven't washed the bag yet.

It looks like mold. I use a solution mixed 50/50 of denatured alcohol and water to kill the mold spores. Use a conditioner that inhibits mold growth after the bath. Vinegar in the bath will also help kill the mold, and dry it in the sun.
