I am in need of more leather products for cleaning and recon. What is leather cpr and where do you get it ? Any help is appreciated. Also I have one leather bag whose handles have a tacky feeling to them. Is there a way to get rid of the tacky feeling?

I got my leather cpr on eBay. Was using Lexol for a while but the leather cpr is way better, really liking the results in getting from it.

I love Leather CPR too. My local Ace Hardware store carries it, also Walmart and Home Depot, or you can order it online (Amazon, eBay). It cleans and conditions the leather. The other one I (and many others here) use is Blackrock Leather 'n Rich which is used as a finish. Buff it out and you get a nice soft glow.

I've experienced that tacky feeling too. I can't remember what exactly I did. I would clean it, possibly with alcohol. It could be grime that has collected from hand oils. You might have to scrape it off carefully without damaging the leather.

I've seen it at Bed, Bath and Beyond but it will cost more there, not that too bad if you have one of those $5 coupons. I've also gotten it at Tuesday Morning, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls. Sometimes they have it and other times they don't. I've never seen it at my Walmart.

Finished product after a bath and much conditioning. The patina difference is crazy.
Here's before and during:

I have never seen a bag absorb water so quickly. I assume it was parched.

I'm over the moon for this bag!! The patina is making me drool and I love how the tassels curled a bit on the ends to look fringe-y. And you've shown me that the bright red lining isn't a dunk worry, either. Thanks so much for sharing your tips & pics and congrats on a beautiful transformation [emoji846]

Hello ladies,
I am seeking advice in how to clean the "grime" from the twisted handles of a Madison pleated Maggie style 17777. The color is like taupe but the handles are almost black (gross). If you need to see the picture I will post it, but you are warned LOL
I really do not know how to tackle this one, because the leather is rare to me, in the sense that is not smooth, pebbled, metallic... to me feels like sandy, I do not know how to describe it.
What would you use, Coach leather cleaner, dunk it, sand it? Any input will be greatly appreciated. TIA

Hmm, that's a difficult one. I have a Poppy cinch that has very similar leather, I think. It was called sparkle suede. This bag gets dirty just by me looking at it, it seems! Once I sprayed it with Scotchguard, I haven't had as many problems with it. I think I would try very lightly sanding with fine steel wool or fine sand paper. Take care that whatever you use isn't going to transfer a darker color. I've had that happen with steel wool before. Or you could try cleaning with vinegar and/or a magic eraser. I would avoid dunking and I don't think leather cleaner is correct for this type of leather.

I also bought this 2 for 1 a few weeks ago. I assumed it was the same stuff but they just changed the packaging. The plastic jar always did have a lot of air in it so I figured this new one might truly hold the same volume. I haven't started using the new jars yet so I can't say if it's the same stuff or not. Is it not? I have also bought it from ebay sellers in the past but I thought this amazon deal was a good price.
I just got the glass jars and they have a lot of air in them. I felt a bit cheated as well when I looked at the size of the plastic container!!
