I worked on 4 bags today. I'm trying to post before and after, but it may end up being after and before....

This looks great! I didn't think you would be able to get rid of that stain on the front.

It kinda happened by accident. It might still be there, but it's been weeks and hasn't resurfaced yet.

I dunked it. One day I just keep rubbing the top flap all day with Goop and then another day of scrubbing with saddle soap. I think at this point I dunked again. Then, several layers of O'Benaufs oil. Next, O'Benaufs LP and finally, Blackrocks. Still needs more buffing, but I hate buffing.

ETA: It really was spread out on my island for a couple of weeks. Everyday I'd just rub, massage or scrub on it every time I walked by it. I may have even dunked 3 times not 2. Can't remember now.

Beautiful work...all 3 bags!!

When you say you ordered a hang tag from JAX...what does that mean? I have a black court bag with no tag.

If you call Coach directly, they will send you up to 3 replacement hangtags per year. You give the Creed No. and they will try to send you a close match. If they don't have it, they send a brass one. I had to wait weeks for it, but I was working on the purse anyway.

I gather JAX is the abbreviation for the Coach warehouse. It's in Jacksonville, FL.

I've done it by email too. I attached a picture of the bag to possibly help them match it. They very kindly sent me 2 hangtags last year, neither of them perfect matches, but close enough, and I was quite happy with them. You can also request replacement turnlocks this way.

If you are close to a Coach store or Coach factory store, you can also ask for hangtags there. Sometimes they require that you bring the bag in. If you do, don't tell them you got it on ebay. Pretend you've had the bag for awhile but the hangtag got lost. To call Coach, the phone number is on their website.

Nice. I happened to just open a eBay box with a bag that needs a new turn lock. Are they easy to remove and install? IMG_1471197092.301297.jpg It's very wobbly.

I've never done that myself, but apparently it's pretty simple. The issue for me would be that the new turnlocks aren't the same as the vintage ones (quality? finish? I dunno, but it might not look right to me). I've only had one bag so far that had a wobbly post. I was able to gently polish it, and it stayed closed when fastened. I decided to leave it alone.
