Hello rehab experts! Happy and Safe Independence Day for those in the USA!

Do you think this bag can be "washed" to treat the water stains and other stains described?

I am not sure why I like this bag so much! I love the silver HW and the bright color. It surprises me a bit that I like it so much since I am not a bright color kinda of person!

Thank you!

I wouldn't recommend buying that bag. It is fake.

Coach did make that style in a similar color with brass hardware. It was really pretty but it is very hard to find one in good condition.

I was thinking that too. I may sand the plating off then to get it even? Or try cleaning the brass first to see if I can brighten it up? idk. Ultimate goal is to add a metal chain and hop on the mini bag trend.
I wouldn't sand it. I would try to polish it. Sometimes I'll use fine steel wool.

Hi rehabbers!
I'm new here and I have decided to try to rehab my 1996 Coach Soho large shopper (4155). I used it as a "baby bag" and haven't used it since. There are even dried milk droplets from my son's bottles as evidence! 😊
Does someone have some step by step directions for me or should I read thru all 600 pages on this thread? Any help would be very much appreciated. I read where I should soak it in mild dish soap for an hour and I'm doing that now but I'm getting overwhelmed with next steps.
Thank you!

Below is a link to the basic steps I use to rehab an unlined, leather bag; but I have also rehabbed lined bags. you can pull the lining out as far as possible and scrub the spots and then rinse and let it dry.

If you would post pics of your bag, including soiled areas we would be better able to advise you, good luck!

I was taking out some of my older bags to "thin out the herd". I took out my Legacy Hippie 10325 to try to clean up some of the patina on the hardware. I barely brushed the turnlock with the rag I was using to condition it with Apple and the damn thing flew off the bag.

Think it can be fixed??

It looks like the prongs have corroded. Hopefully, you can find a replacement turnlock that is the right size and shape. I'd start calling Coach to see if they have it but I wouldn't have high hopes. As a last resort, you might be able to glue it back in place after you clean off all that gunk.

Is the verdigris a normal thing on the Whiskey bags? I think I have it on my Gigi too, but not on my black Gigi.
I was thinking of taking it to the shoe repair guy. I don't think there's any way to get to the back side of the turnlock without ruining the bag or liner. :-(

Verdigris happens with brass. Your black Gigi must have been kept drier.

Once you find a replacement turn lock you could just attach it through the lining. It's a small pocket so it shouldn't be a big deal, or does it only go through the leather tab on the front and not all the way through?
