I collect vintage bags so I'm not sure what their warranty is like, but it could be worth sending an email to Coach customer service to see what they can do. It might be as easy as having them send you a new turnlock and having you install it. (Which in all honesty, should not be a big deal and is less of a hassle than sending the whole bag to Coach from what I understand.)

As a ex-Macys handbags associate, I think you have a good chance of exchanging it since it is only a few months old and you have the receipt. Also, if it is in good condition otherwise and you don't have a history of a lot of returns with or without a receipt. Be polite and if necessary, nicely ask for a manager. If it's not the STORE manager and they won't exchange the bag, ask to see him/her. If he's not there, get his name and phone number and call him the next day. Nobody wants to be the one to bother the store manager! Take hubby with you if he authorative and can play nice. 😀

This may have changed in the 3 years I have been retired but I would give it a try.

Me neither so I just looked it up. It's actually its own thing (and not an Aussie version of something :p) and it is supposed to remove ink. They have a website and it looks like they may only sell it in the midwest but you can get it online from Amazon and others. Seems like it may be worth a shot.

Have you got Amodex?

Hmm. I will look into that. Thanks to both of you.

No, and I don't even know what that is.

As you don't know if it is ink or not, I thought it might be worth a shot if you already have some. I bought some and I've had mixed results with ink. It was absolutely useless removing ink from the inside pocket of my Slim Satchel, however it did remove ink from the lining of a Fossil bag, after alcohol didn't. Well actually I used alcohol, it didn't work, then Amodex and it didn't work, but when I applied more alcohol the ink came off. Apparently it will remove any stain. I'm not convinced yet, but Martha Stewart endorses it! :p

I've found a few promising sounding things on Amazon I might give a shot, too.

I've used Amodex. It works great on lining. I haven't gotten it to work on anything else. The instructions stress that you aren't supposed to try anything else first; it's supposed to work better that way.

If I were you, I would try Lincoln E-Z cleaner. It has worked for me in removing ink marks from suede. I think it is your best bet.

Thanks! Another item for the Amazon cart! Do you have any recommendations for a spray for it to protect it after I'm done?

Ok, I've the EZ Cleaner, a suede brush and bar and some suede Scotchguard coming. Wish I could just go buy it, but what can you do! I'm not convinced this is ink, just because of how it's spotted, but who who knows.

Would you do the usual? Whitish spots-(lotion residue), and multiple ink spots. This a workhorse of a bag, and would like to revive her. Thank you for comments!
Is it a stewardess? If there are any areas with a lot of ink, such as a pen leak, you have to address those first so they don't bleed in the bath. If they are just random ink lines, they probably won't spread enough to make a difference so you can do the usual. If there are any oil spots, you might want to treat those with cornstarch or something before the bath.
