Late to the party on this one, but was checking in to see if you are still liking the results of Leather Honey on the 65th Anniversary Vachetta. I have a walnut Ali that is pretty stiff that I'm going to start in on and was thinking about trying out the Leather Honey. You just painted it on in sections with a paintbrush? Tips? Did you use Leather Honey and then finish with blackrocks? Ledobe, that Mandy is gorgeous!!!!
My 'girls' together.. Both have been bathed, and stuffed.. Still need to condition once dry..

Thanks for the input. Mandy is awesome and that Clay Gigi is pretty awesome as well! Love that 65th anniversary leatherI haven't had any problems with the bags I've used Leather Honey on. It might darken it a little, but like we've noticed with other conditioners it lightens back up. I doubt you'll have any problems with something in the brown family. I've just used a soft cloth to apply it myself, Whateve's idea with the brush sounds like a good one but I haven't had one around to use and the cloth has worked fine. I keep thinking the Leather Honey would be easier to work with if it was a little warmer, but I always think of it when I'm in the middle of using it so I am always too lazy to try it.
I have really been enjoying the Mandy! Such a cool bag, and since it's already "broken in" I'm already using it more than I have used my Ali.
I don't think the pebbles will dissolve, no matter what you use on it. I've had stains become more visible after cleaning. Pictures of the bag might help us help you. Sometimes the best solution is to dab it with matching acrylic paint to cover up the marks.Hi All,
I apologize if I'm posting my question in the wrong place...
Does anyone know how to remove stains of unknown origin from a pebbled hobo bag (camel color)? I've had it for 6-7 years, and, like all pebbled leather bags, it's been extremely durable and never required any care other than wiping with damp soft cloth. The other day I noticed a couple of pale stains on the bottom - I don't think it was water because water would always just dry off without leaving any marks... after wiping, however, the stains just got more visible and never disappeared. I'm afraid to use any cleaners out of fear that the pebbles will just dissolve, and I searched all over the Internet and found nothing but general info such as that the pebbled leather is easy to care for - duh... Any help will be greatly appreciated!
I don't find any of the leather cleaners I've used to be anything special. I think regular all-purpose cleaners work at least as good, if not better. It helps to see the bag because the leather from different eras sometimes needs different treatments. Black marks are difficult to remove, and bright colors often fade while cleaning. Sometimes you just have to experiment to find out what works. What is a good leather CLEANER! I love leather CPR for conditioning leather, but does not clean leather! I have a beautiful orange coach leather purse that needs cleaning! Has various marks (including a couple black marks, but does not look like pen!) I took it to a shoe repair shop (works with leather) and the lady there said they could clean it (taking the color off in the process) and then re dye it for a high price of $80. I think they don't know what they are talking about! The purse is not that dirty, just needs a nice scrub! I'm afraid to dunk it because I'm worried about the orange! Help!! Please let me know what you think as soon as you can! Thanks
Leather Therapy has a spray on cleaner and also they claim that the Leather Therapy conditioner brings dirt to the surface so it can be wiped off. I applied quite a lot of the conditioner to an old saddle pouch and then left it for a few weeks and when I came back to it there was a cloudy film all over which I wiped off then brushed to reveal lovely clean soft leather. What is a good leather CLEANER! Thanks for the reply! I'm afraid to experiment because I don't want to wreck the bag! If you know what I mean! I have pics to show. I took them on an iPad so it is hard to see some of the marks. I can try for better ones tomorrow if needed. But this just shows the type of leather! It was made in 1997 according to the creed in the US.. Of glove tan leather!
