What do you think about the bag?
I don't know. I had a bag with mold spots once but it was black so they weren't that visible. They didn't clean off and didn't absorb conditioner. You could sort of feel them since they had a different texture. If your spots don't feel different from the rest of the bag, then it is probably a stain of some kind. Even with acetone, not all stains will clean off.

Do you think I should repeat the process of acetone? It looks like it is getting better. One side looks good. Maybe I did not do it right. I don't know.. Do you think it is a goner? It doesn't feel textury

I think I would try the acetone again. Two.time.bags is more of an expert.

I don't think it is a goner. You can always blend in a little dye to even out the color.

Awwww! I've just gone back to scan thru this thread from the beginning (since the search option is not back yet) and found this post. And now I feel like you are one of the rehab Jedi Masters!
Oh thanks. That was a while ago. Actually I discovered that bag was a fake! It was one of the first I purchased, and from an Australian seller. I did get a full refund, but I'll never buy from that seller again.

There are a lot of rehabbers here and on other threads, who have way more experience than me, and I've learnt everything I know from them and from some experimenting.

I really wish I knew what caused the spots! Wait for it to dry and see what it looks like. I'd probably give it another vigorous scrub with acetone, rinse, dry then do a coat of Leather Therapy or CPR, leave a day, buff, apply another coat, leave a day, then massage in some Obenauf's, leave it for a couple of days and buff again.

What's the inside looking like?

Thank you! My pics are not coming out so great, but here is one part of the inside! Both sides are almost flawless! This side you are seeing is probably the worst of it! My next post is how it is coming along! I really want to know what caused such horrible spots!! Is there away to almost strip a layer off the leather? Maybe that will remove them? Conserving as much originality is what I want, but at this point I'm not sure! The previous owner really messed this bag up!! It was such a beauty! In this next pic, (I don't know if you can tell) do the spots look lighter? Is there progress? Also you just scrub the bag with a terry cloth towel like you would a kitchen floor? Plmk!!

Outside that is currently drying! The bag is still wet, but do the spots look any better? This is the back portion of the bag!:)
Hmm hard to say until it's dry. Yes scrub it quite vigorously with a terrycloth.

The inside does look good.

If the second coat of acetone doesn't work, then you could try peroxide. Test it on a spot first and see if it makes a difference.
