Unfortunately, health care costs are going up for everybody. My husband recently turned 65 and got Medicare. Before that his employer had selected for a number of years, a policy with a huge deductible of at least $3k per person before the insurance payments would kick in. I have been on a Medicare Advantage plan since early 2013 and the costs keep going up. I feel these politicians dont care as they get a golden goose egg when they leave office. Just my rant for the day!
Medicare is my dream insurance. DH is on it, we pay around $100 a month for Part B and his deductible is under $200. Compare that to my plan which costs $700 for my daughter and me, has a $5000 deductible, and there are very few providers that take it. I just found out that my osteoporosis scan isn't covered because my doctor doesn't take Obamacare. The only doctor I have that takes Obamacare is my allergist. I had to go 70 miles to find a gynecologist that takes Obamacare. My primary care doctor doesn't take it.

Not only am I paying $700 a month for a crummy plan, I can't even use it! I might as well pay the penalty on my taxes. It would be cheaper.

WHATEV!! Oh yeah..I never knew where you were..its all a blurr cuz Lucas went to Miami Childrens for Heart surgery on Mothers Day & it took him most of the summer to recover..then he went back for another surgery in the begiining of August so..thats what happened to my summer!!..I forgot, pssst ..a big blur..but he is doing great now!! knockin on Wood!!..What did ya do? where did you go? I basically went underground for those months.love to hear...saw some of your purchases tho..your listings look FABULOUS!! too..ciao for now!
I'm glad Lucas is doing well now. What a nightmare! We went to New York for our daughter's wedding and law school graduation. Then we rented a car and drove slowly through the south, eventually making it home. It took 2 months.

So I could use some suggestions on how to clean this up. It's a jacquard signature bag in light blue. I've managed to clean the outside pretty easily with some dish soap on a damp paper towel, but this part has been a little more difficult. I'm not sure what it is since it's on the inside it could really be anything. I'm thinking it's dirt, foundation or (ew!) sweat since it's such a short strap. I've already tried dish soap on the inside and it didn't help much. I'm almost tempted to try some makeup remover cloths that I have and see if that does anything.
This is what the outside looks like, pretty clean at this point.
This is to give you all an idea of what the inside SHOULD look like...
Here's what I'm trying to clean.

Here's what I'm trying to clean.

I used laundry spot remover on two bags with same kind of mystery stuff on the lining edges. One was satin lining, one was the twill. Both came out brand new looking. Straight Dr. Brommers worked good too, but spot remover got everything out, including make up spills.
Toothbrush worked to scrub the edges.

But I am a novice rehabber, so you might want to wait for an answer from the pros!

Good luck with your pretty bag!

Dr Brommers as in the kinda preachy soap that you can use to clean pretty much anything?

Not sure if this is the right place to post, but my key fob could use a little rescuing. So I have a Hawaiian girl key fob that I got from FOS and the one and only rhinestone fell off. No idea when, where, or how. I was wondering if anyone ever attempted to replace the rhinestone themselves. I was thinking I should visit Michaels or AC Moore. Or I shouldn't waste my time?

Yes. It cleans purses, hands, grandchildren and dogs equally well! :smile1:

Sounds like great advice. Fabric is easier to clean than leather. It copes better with detergents. Leather fibres break down with harsh, alkaline detergents.

Washing machine questions. I have a side loading one that uses the HE low sudsing detergent and just a minimum amount of water.

Will this type of machine work well to wash bags, or the leather bomber jacket my husband has had since his wild (lol) motorcycle days back in the 80's?

What type of soap would I use if I ever decide to wash a bag? Thinking about using leather therapy laundry solution for the jacket.

I could also sneak over to my son's house, while he and my daughter-in-law are at work, and
use their top loading machine!
SheriDahlin has recently cleaned a leather jacket, so she will be able to advise. The Leather Therapy detergent sounds good though.

I have a front loader and have washed Fossil bags - canvas with leather trim - with no problems. Choose the shortest cycle and use the mildest, low alkaline detergent you can get.

I'm loving the Leather Therapy Wash..it makes all the difference in the world when you have rotten egg smelling Florida well water..that dries your hair& your skin ..the good thing is I only have to wash my hair about twice a weekWe have a cistern so when it rains,I go crazy washing bags &laundry because it overflows, but we just began WINTER here.Last winter my bags came out like cardboard..I used baby wash, woolite, dawn. Then a couple months ago.I got "da boss" to buy me LT wash, because he wanted me to clean 2 leather jackets..first I used it on about 10 bags..sososo soft..it comes with a spray,so for those of you that don't dunk ,or want to clean shoes or other stuff, you can spray it on & wipe it off.I'm using it as my soap when I dunk, and I used it on 1980s leather Jax too..its well worth the money & since I'm an LT rehabber, when I need to to order the LT conditioner I didnt have to pay xtra shipping..I've been buying from Horse.com..you can google it for the coupon usually 10% off..its the best deal I've found. You can also use the LEXOL Spray cleaner as wash..but most peeps with normal water are probably fine with dawn ..woolite is pretty harsh IMHO!!..Dr Bronners, baby wash, baby shampoo..I was going to try that Dawn with oil of olay,it sounds bizzarro to use dish soap with lotion on dishes... I rarely throw bags in the machine unless they are the XLarge Duffels, or briefcases..the only time I let the cycle go through is when I get BAD BAD BAGS from BAD BAD PEOPLE that cover them in BADBAD Shoepolish.my.last duffel sac & last Helens were a mess! I was cleaning my washing machine with a toothbrush~UGH!! But, I dream of a front loader!! I have thought about bringing a load of bags to the laundromat & using their machines, but I'm always getting into trouble,so I would probably get arrested or fined or thrown out for washing leather..
I'm glad all of you got a giggle from my NOTADREMEL Story.. I'm sorry I can't multiquote, I'm running on XP & this desktop was pretty much given to me,totally refurbished by some awesome ladies that run a small Computer Geek Shop in my town. ..I thought I was drinking too much while writing..fortunately that isn't true!! I drink just enough!! One day when I grow up, I hope to have windows 7..yahoo!! By then,we will have computer chips in our earbuds if not embedded in our brains..its a good thing I like VINTAGE because I'm waaay behind the times here...like way back before tablets!! OMY!! Ciao or now kidz...:supacool:
