Im probably related to "GOOFY"..I LOVE THIS WEATHER!! I have a bad habit of collecting Vintage coats sweaters& jackets under the auspices of selling them..haha! Maybe its a fear of being cold, or I'm worried if I EVER take a trip somewhere cold, I seriously won't have anything a'tall to wear..Fortunately, my house has a coat closet in the Foyer!!...I'm excited, everyday I go out I get to wear a different jacket or sweater!! I'm hoping I get to wear my leather jax this year..
Its always colder & hotter over on your side..
You get the Goodwills..we get the Goodweather..and don't forget the Atlantic..but then again your snowbirds are nicer and generally more chilled...you have more midwesterners!
We get the New Jersey Housewives-Kardashian types" My tourists~they will run over you & your child who i sitting in grocery cart and never look back!! True! They have hit a few baggers in Publix parking lot..and fled the scene!!! Oh No they are back!! And if just one obnoxious tourist looks at me sideways
..I'm telling you..TO THE MOON ALICE!!
Actually, I might come over your way this winter if I catch a ride with my Ps..I need to visit my HS art teacher in Port Charlotte& they have a coop artists gallery I'm interested in joining in Sanibel/Captiva..If I do it would be fun to meet..
I hope you are hanging in there my friend!! Is your sister still there? The invite to visit is always open, if you feel like taking a road trip across the state..its a nice drive through the backroads & pretty therapeutic too..I have a painting called GODsCOUNTRY , which I did somewhere near that place while driving from Tampa to my house in Martin County..Stay Warm..and don't forget the rule: 10 points for every bluehair tourist you hit,15 points if they are on a bicycle...:roflmfao:

Another "good morning giggle"...YAY! I know what you mean about the jacket/coat collection. I grew up in Indianapolis (cold), moved to the D.C. area (not so cold) after college for 10 years, moved back to Indiana (South Bend - really cold) for 15 or so years...then finally got a clue and moved to Florida...and NEVER looked back :) Now coats and jackets are fashion statements, not survival gear. Let me know if you make the trip to Port Charlotte...my favorite GW is about halfway from my house to PC!

Hola mes amigos.. ,In Florida the rule is Shoot First~Ask Questions Later! Pythons have taken over the Everglades,a couple years ago some one got a photo of a python trying to swallow a gator whole..so python hunting, though like finding a needle in a haystack, is becoming another source of entertainment for us Floridians.Want python skin? C'mon down Whatev!!
Also, there is no law that you can't merrily chat away on your cell phone or text away while driving! !BlueTooth.??psshaww..those are for you pantywaists from California..you prob also have the Dry Cleaning Bags that say..WARNING:.Do not place this bag over your head, it may cause suffocation and Death" Dontcha?
Florida Dry Cleaning? Its an oxymoron..who needs a drycleaner for shorts & sandles. But for those snowbirds & tourists they keep 'em in business. Our bags say..ATTENTION:This IS a TOY give it to your child to to play with while you are busy doing other things" haha!!
No I agree you Cali kids just can't be trusted..so they make laws to keep you in line!! as if the smog alone won't kill ya, they are worried about LEAD?? Lead? ??Isnt that what the bullets are called that gang members kill each other with & the rest of the population in drive by shootings??Hey, I watch sons of anarchy..I'm informed about all the gangs & bikers..in the Wild West!!
of course we have Miami..home of Scarface...so right there thats MORE proof of our toughness in deflecting carcinogenic substances..
Pit Scarface against Arnold Schwarzenneggar anyday..AND
you will see who the tough guy is! Our governor is so tough that he alonedecided WE Floridians DONT NEED NO OBAMACARE.. He refused Federal money for medicaid so we don't get ANY health care in this state..but who needs it??
I havent seen the election results yet, but that gov better have been booted out.. The Affordable Care Act? does NOT live here in FLAAAAHRIDA...
I Hope you enjoy the CALI humour..I actually spent time up north, Petaluma Santa Rosa San Fran...beautiful! just not warm enough for me!! Chat soon ladies!!!!!! Back to workworkwork...

LOLOLOL!

If it makes you feel any better, I have friends who moved to Orlando and wear their winter coats when it falls into the 60s because they miss wearing them. :p I'm in Maryland where it is in the upper 60s and people were wearing their big puffy winter coats today!

60 degrees in Indiana is shorts & t-shirt weather...60 degrees in Florida is just plain COLD :) Get out the socks, boots and leather!

Whew! Was a little worried. A few months ago I began my first Coach suede clean up, perhaps more of a suede mess up. Tried to remove a shiny mystery brownish spot from the turquoise suede. Brush and spot eraser had no effect. Got me some Kiwi suede cleaner (destroyer ?) and a better brush and soaked that spot till the suede was navy and scrubbed like crazy till the shiny stuff was gone. Big mistake, of course. Ended up with a light blue spot which was bigger than the shiny spot I started with. Grrrr.

Then I got lucky and found this thread. Also found a warning not to scrub suede too hard. Yep. I can vouch for that! All the bag bathing everyone was doing inspired me, so I dunked the bag in an attempt to drown it or clean it. Bag has dried. Spot is all gone. No shiny stuff, no light blue stuff. Just beautiful turquoise suede on a now very clean bag!
First pic is pre bath, and second pic is after bath. Wooo hooo! :woohoo:

Thank you wonderful ladies!

Yay for you! I've done a few suede bags and found that sometimes a scrub with baking soda is the answer for greasy-shiny-type spots. Just always be careful about scrubbing to hard...as you already found out. And be careful with baking soda on brighter colors...I've done it, but results may vary.

Thanks for the suede tips. Next (?) time I will do the baking soda first!

Thanks for the invite! Remember I was in Florida a few months ago? Unfortunately we picked the worst time to visit. It was hot and humid. We have hot but we don't have humid. I lived in San Francisco for awhile. It was so cold! The air feels damp all the time so when it is 60, it feels like 30 degrees. Here in the central valley, you wouldn't find it too cold. You would probably miss the rain though.

They just outlawed free plastic bags. If you want a plastic bag in the store, you have to pay for it. When I went to the drugstore, I refused to pay for the bag, I just stuffed everything in my purse. It was so full, I couldn't close it. Right outside the drugstore was a pile of boxes they were throwing away, so I loaded my purchases into one of their boxes. The next time, I'll check outside for a box before I go shopping there.

Believe me, you don't want Obamacare! The affordable care act is not affordable. I've got a $5000 deductible, and a bill of $700 a month for my daughter and me. They made my son get his own plan for another $200. I used to pay $300 a month for my son, my daughter, and me before *****, and the benefits were better. I'm counting the years until I can get Medicare, with free hospital care, $100 a month for outpatient services, and a deductible under $200.
well, I did check obamacare, prices are ridiculous!! They outlawed plastic bags in some other states..its a wise move IMO..Living in the Caribbean where they don't recycle the winds would blow plastic bags all over..
I collect boxes for my bags anyway and I always carry tote bags, but lately we ran out of plastic bags, for lining the trash cans etc, so at least I get em free..I ask for paper bags too so if I need to use a priority box that goes media mail or first class..my wrapping is free..I also order the largest amount of padded envelopes FREE from USPS..so I dont have to buy bubble wrap..now my ship materials are free!!
You are always invited to Florida!!.since I cant multiquote w/ XP..I was reinviting JOODLZ to take a road trip when she feels like getting away....But hey y''all are welcome~anytime!! Long as I can keep the house..nearly 3 acres , you can rent a trailer or a pop up camper...or help me clean out my art studio~which has become my parents storage space.I'm dumping their crap.!!Its been sitting there for 5 years now!!.I need to work in there or I can rent it out..!the more the merrier...
ok...I really need to work now!!..signing out or nothing will get done!!! too early for HAPPYHOUR!!:graucho:

WHATEV!! Oh yeah..I never knew where you were..its all a blurr cuz Lucas went to Miami Childrens for Heart surgery on Mothers Day & it took him most of the summer to recover..then he went back for another surgery in the begiining of August so..thats what happened to my summer!!..I forgot, pssst ..a big blur..but he is doing great now!! knockin on Wood!!..What did ya do? where did you go? I basically went underground for those months.love to hear...saw some of your purchases tho..your listings look FABULOUS!! too..ciao for now!

Great buy. It should come up well. Chuck it in the washing machine, maybe.

Washing machine questions. I have a side loading one that uses the HE low sudsing detergent and just a minimum amount of water.

Will this type of machine work well to wash bags, or the leather bomber jacket my husband has had since his wild (lol) motorcycle days back in the 80's?

What type of soap would I use if I ever decide to wash a bag? Thinking about using leather therapy laundry solution for the jacket.

I could also sneak over to my son's house, while he and my daughter-in-law are at work, and
use their top loading machine!

:supacool: Well Kids~ I suppose now is as good a time as any to tell you about my
NOT A DREMEL~Dremel experience.. I went to Harbor Freight Tools~for those of you that dont know about this place, its a big store that sells really Crapola tools & other supplies that are made in China, most likely using child labor BUT you can get a Free Flashlight just by walking in the door AND I really like FREE..and flashlights disappear here like my hidden chocolate!
So,I read the reviews online & the tiny battery operated "Fake Dremel" got bad reviews because it couldnt tackle BIG jobs..PERFECT, me thinks. I only want to buff..if its too weak to cut glass or concrete,it should be light enough for my poor wrists &slow enough to manage a turnlock..HAHAHA!!
My little 9.99 (20% off coupon & my free flaslight!) leave the store in a fabulous mood! Filled with anticipation & dreams of shiny brass hardware dancing in my head! I am soo excited..no more steel wool, no more never!! hiphip hooray!!
My "NOTADREMEL" came jam packed with 7 zillion tiny attachments & a teeny tiny instruction book.. I had already pulled off the hardware from about 5 bags and I'm so ready to begin..
I settle myself in my chaise lounge & try to read the tiny instruction booklet measurements: 3inch high by 1 inch wide..fortunately my lucky day,its actually written in ENGLISH!!
..Precautions: this item contains lead & is against the law in California
..Precaution:This item can cause nerve damage and can not be used in CALIFORNIA
..Precaution : This Item contains...blahblabhbla YaddaYadda..CALIFORNIA..movie stars ..wimps..
Fortunately I don't live in California..Here in Florida we welcome toxic sludge & carcinogenic everything..BRING IT ON!!
As a Floridian I'm not worried because apparently my health is not as important as a Californian so..I plug in this tiny machine..Caution Do Not Smoke during the use of this machine because it could constrict your blood vessels causing nerve damage from the vibrations..YEAH,RIGHT!! This tiny machine probably couldnt move dust off my furniture..what a crock!!
C'mon..heres a piece of crap that the reviewers claimed couldnt do anything!!
So,Now,I have to find the tiny attachments..included attachments are on page 3..then I'm looking for the assembly instructions on page 7..in between the warnings for the Chosen people who reside in CALIFORNIA..finally,I find some tiny little pieces & figure..what the hell I'm from Florida..we are tough..how bad could it be to use the little cloth wheel to buff my brass turnlock??
I turn on the machine expecting nothing and ZAP ZAO Zing, that little wheel is spinning like crazy & I'm glad I'm not from California because I can use a machine instead of steel wool and I'm in Hog Heaven for about 12 seconds until I feel it..The vibrations are sending shock waves through my fingers up my arms into my elbows & I'm trying to figure out how to shut this damn thing off because my hand are burning and I've lost complete feeling in my hand..within 20 second my hand is burning & I throw this cheapo Not a Dremel onto the other chaise lounge..unplug it & start shaking out my hand to get the feeling back..even though I live in FLORIDA apparently I too am susceptible to nerve damage from less than 30 seconds of NOT A DREMEL use...
That was 3 weeks ago and seriously..us Floridians can also suffer from the effects of crappy motorized tools..BRING ON THE STEEL WOOL!!
I still haven't gotten the feeling back in my hands..which is a benefit when slivers of steel wool get lodged in my small fingertips....CHEERS ALL!!
PEACE & SHERIDAHLIN
Ooohhh Mmmyyyyy GGGgggdddDDD!!!!!!! I am totally losing it! You are too darn funny!

Unfortunately, health care costs are going up for everybody. My husband recently turned 65 and got Medicare. Before that his employer had selected for a number of years, a policy with a huge deductible of at least $3k per person before the insurance payments would kick in. I have been on a Medicare Advantage plan since early 2013 and the costs keep going up. I feel these politicians dont care as they get a golden goose egg when they leave office. Just my rant for the day!
