You are an inspiration indeed ! I also have a red Nubuc which I have been shelving and shelving. Once spring chores are out of the way, I too will tackle mine
Thanks for all for your kind words! As you know, it can be very scary to attempt to rehab a bag. And it is even more scary if the bag is rare, delicate or valuable, but I usually ask myself if I am "comfortable carrying it in the current condition?" If the answer is "no" then I may as well "go for it" to try to improve it! Another option is to take it to a leather professional and hear his/her suggestions and ideas.
So, carry-on the good work and best of luck with your rehabbing efforts!
Lately I've been digging deeply into my long-neglected rehab pile, and I recently rehabbed a tan Kooba Devin bag that was made of Italian lambskin and released in 2007 for $535.
In 2011 I had found the bag $13 at a thrift store for $13. It was in bad shape and I was afraid of tackling the lambskin, so I put it aside and then I forgot about it!

What's going on in that second picture?Is it about reshaping the bag? Or are you making salsa with those tomatoes for the chips for the game?
Jar salsa for the chips — too busy dunking! 😁 That was the final evolution of my piece by piece reshaping set up.
I've used books but I never would have thought about using round cans.
I started with the books. But predunk the bottom of the bag was decidedly convex. So I looked for something that would keep the pressure along the center line. I use those big cans to weigh down ends of drying straps too, to give them a little bend inward.

Wanted to share a new addition that's white - a color I swore I wouldn't buy because it's very difficult to "rehab" and I did not want a bag I wouldn't carry. I mean, who has the courage to carry a white bag and I never really thought they were very pretty. If anyone is afraid of carrying white, don't be. I have carried this beauty on numerous occasions and I am shocked at how durable this color is! I'm very cautious of my bags so there's that too. Anyway, I must say that white in person is stunning, pictures do not do it justice! I used a magic eraser (very, very carefully!) on the tongue and other areas that had dirt marks. I then washed the bag in Leather Therapy Wash and all the dirt came right out.
Don't be afraid of white! Nubuck, on the hand, is something to be afraid of though! Love the results of you red nubuck bag @katev!

Thanks! I'll have you know that I have copied you in regards to crossbody straps. I love the one you have for your Courier and found amazing embroidered straps with brass hardware. I love Parker Thatch straps but they're super expensive... Amazon to the rescue!
It came out so well with a cleaning!! I thought at first glance that you had recoloured the bag!
