That's great! Scooters are great little bags and a red Scooter is the best IMO. Here is the link to the Marie Claire article about the joys of going hands-free while using a red Scooter during the pandemic shutdown. I hope that it will inspire your rehab!

You, @katev, and this article are exactly what sent me on a long hunt for an inexpensive scooter in red. I did find one and carry it quite often.

I have the same problem!
I probably shouldn't share the state of this mess but here's a picture. Multiply this by about 3 times more and that's how much stuff I have to do. They have an expression your eyes are bigger than your stomach well my rehab pile is bigger than my rehab time.

That's a worthy rehab pile, but I am right there beside you!

The next in my desired lineup for rehab is this cute gray chester bag (hanging on the left near the red/white/blue bag). When the red scooter appears, it goes high on the list, too. That brown bag hanging on the far right, I've done that one!! (Shared the photos a few days ago.)

I saw the pictures of your legacy hobo rehab, it looks gorgeous! The red Scooter is going to be a challenge but you can only improve it and since you got it for a great price then it's worth the try! Here are pics of a red Murphy bag that I rehabbed. It was a tough job and took 2 tries, but it eventually came out very well IMO.

Good luck with your red Scooter and your gray Chester!

So I did my very first dunk and 2 coats of CPR on my "lappy" bag and unfortunately noticed 2 flaws .
Firstly on the lower edge someone must have spilt some kind of white paint on it, then either used very fine sandpaper or the rough side of kitchen sponge to erase it, leaving the leather dull. There are a few splatters left and I would like to know with what kind of paint I can cover it. I have not done the Renapur yet, but extra helpings of CPR did not improve the dullness of the erasure.
Then I noticed that the stitching on the strap let go by one stitch and I wonder if someone has tried to repair such a flaw, so that it does not get worse. On the inside of the strap is the lining, so I cannot just stitch through it ? I wish the straps were riveted to the bag. Any suggestions are appreciated.
I have removed white paint splatter from a bag with 100 % acetone successfully. You will need to wash it again after trying. Alternatively you can try picking it off with you fingernail while it's in a bath. This is the safest solution obviously.

Anybody looking for a daunting but inexpensive challenge? The bag at the link below has been listed on ebay for ages and I have been tempted by it several times, but I already have lots of challenging bags waiting for my attention so I keep resisting the urge to buy another one.

This appears to be a small, hair calf bag made in Italy in 2000 (not authenticated). The style number is not legible in the photos but I think that it looks authentic. They are only asking $13 plus $6 shipping (and sales tax) so it's not a big risk and it is an unusual bag.

The bag looks dirty and I don't know if you can safely dunk a calf hair bag? But cows get wet in the rain and it doesn't seem to be a problem for them - so maybe it's okay!

But the most obvious issue is that it appears to have a few areas of hair loss due to rubbing, I believe that rehabbers call it "balding" and I don't know if that can be repaired or minimized.

Here's the link; if anybody decides to go for it please let us know what happens!

Somebody bought the Italian Hair Calf Bag! I hope that it was purchased by a member of this group who will share photos. I'd like to see more before pictures of the bag and also find out style number from the creed. Good luck with the rehab!

Thank you Belicious, I did pick at the splatters while I bathed the bag, but will try the Acetone on the remaining spots.

Unfortunately, I have found acetone to also strip the dye where it is used. You might be better off soaking in hot water again and making another attempt to pick it off. Other opinions are welcome. :flowers:

Thank you LadaZuri, I will try the hot bath first, because the leather in that area has suffered the abrasions. It does not show in the picture, but the dullness is very noticeable in RL. I used lukewarm water, but hot water might also help cleaning the brown handles (handles inside) a bit better.

Try using a pin or needle to gently lift the paint while it's dunking if it's not coming off with your fingernail.
