Finished the Kent but disappointed in my rehab...too lazy to do anything about it.
Pics later
I saw the pics over on AT and it looks nice. If you are open to a few suggestions …
If you have fully conditioned it, maybe just put it on a shelf for a few weeks, months and take then take it out and use it for a week. See how you feel then.
Perhaps if you feel lazy (been there), which can be read as unmotivated, a break from rehabbing maybe would help. While I feel there is a lot, a lot of encouragement here, the bar here is high, very high here of late.
Or go ahead and use it now for a solid week. Really get in touch with what is disappointing you about it. See what your gut says to you.
Maybe it needs one more coat of conditioner or more buffing or *fill in the blank*. Give yourself time to think about it.
My story: I picked up a worn BT Plaza Large a few years ago. It had a few stains that didn’t lift with dunking and in my eagerness to restore it from being pancake flat I probably did not let it adequately dry before sitting it upright and it slumps forward. And the turn lock needs to be removed/cleaned, which I didn’t do initially. I felt like the stain made it look dirty instead of my favorite, distressed to perfection. I was never completely happy with it. But I wasn’t willing to let it go. I can be stubborn about rehabbing

and for crying out loud it was a $65 Plaza! Who gives up on that, right??
I now want to let go of some of the bags I am not using. So I pulled it out recently, used it for a good 10 days straight. I like the size of the style with its flap and curves. The leather, piping is in good to very good shape. So now it is happily back in the rehab pile. I want to remove the hardware, go Cape Cod on it, give the stains some extra attention (read about using an enzyme cleaner) and see if I can pay more attention in the drying phase so sits flat the way my other Plaza does. And see if I am satisfied with it then!
I was also meh about my Ergo Shopper and pushed myself to finish it. I fell in love with the color of the leather, toffee , like a rich saddle, after being in natural light.
Thanks for riding along with me on my vintage
